There are idiot savants that can't tie their shoes but can count a 12 deck shoe in blackjack. He is inept as a coach.
Also, he got his bachelors in 2.5 years. It took him a little longer to get his masters, but he did do it fast.

RE: Positive Pastner
It’s looking more & more like Pastner is turning out to be a better snake oil salesman than even Cal is. Josh has suckered everyone including his recruits. It appears Iverson was right labeling him a fraud because as time goes by he is clearly more talk than substance.

Reading some posts on this board gives validity to the saying ”There’s a Sucker Born Every Minute”.

On the inside, he is an insecure, negative inept person. He was very driven. I will give him that. But he seems less driven now that he has money

No need for the psychoanalysis BS and personal attacks.

Why don't we just leave it at the 'guy can't coach well enough to win at the level he is expected to win at Memphis'?

It was pretty awfulsome to watch the back and forth of JJ crouching at the scorer's table

You can thank Mr. Leonard Draper for JJ weathering the storm with Pastner. If Mr. Draper doesn't have his meeting with JJ, JJ walks, and that's fact. His name would've just been another name added to the long list of transfers.

The arc of Pastner would have been a lot shorter had Joe left in his soph year.

Sadly, that was when the Paskateers reared their ugly heads. The line was certainly drawn in the sand with Pastner=good, player=malcontents during that time.

I dunno if it would've lessened his time. People were putting the anit-JJ BS out, especially on Roar. Only WMBD (Roar poster) and I were ticked off, as I recall.

I nevah bought into that anti-Joe script, but many did. Pastner would have prolly slid through on that one.

More to the idea that no JJ=no NCAA tourney in 2011 and then who knows what happens the next couple years.

He seems to handle his players in a very negative way.

You miss too many shots...bench
You have a bad attitude... bench or suspension

If you aren't THE star he doesn't show much confidence in you

Its you

Yeah it's just macgar32 and 95% of the Memphis fan base.

I don't recall WMBD being a JJ defender, but I certainly was.

As probably the second most influential factor in Tiger basketball of the 21st century, it really should have it's own name, shouldn't it?

I kind of like The Contract, but there's historic reasons to call it

Lord.

I think when Pastner takes a shower, he uses too much water.

What clever thread is next?

And you should know, my not posting for a bit, choosing not to read the oh so fun watch me be a bigger prick than the last guy messages, was met with an over the top assault by some Mensa member named kidmemphis.

So- respond to a jerky thread like this...likely get assailed. Don't respond to a jerk thread like this, get assailed.

Memphis athletics. Gotta love it!

They say you can tell a lot about a man by his friends, or perhaps by those that adore him.

Perhaps the most damning thing about Pastner is that you are the archetype of his common fan
