Memphis Signing Class Offers


Here are the offers, by school, that our recruiting class received. On the JC players, I went back to see what they were offered out of high school. Both Ferguson and LaFaele were BIG TIME recruits. Ferguson not only had an offer from Tennessee but also LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Texas. Pretty impressive. We also signed 5 players that were offered by Ole Miss and 3 had offers from Alabama and 3 from LSU. Also, we didn't hit Arizona State hard....we got 3 players that they had offered....so that school was not effected any worse than any other schools on here. Three players passed up on a chance to go to one of our Military Academies and picked Memphis instead.

I know some folks are obsessed with the basketball situation so I am moving this post over to the recruiting board. which is probably where I should have posted it in the first place. And, yes...thank you HOLY TERROR for the complement, it did take a while to gather this all up, especially the info on the JC players we signed. It also needed some editing, which has been done on the Recuiting Page relist of this data.

I assume that you mean Ferguson. He did have tons of big- time offers, didn't he?

Last night , I ran into a member of UT football staff. He is not an asst coach. I guess more of an admin/equip mgr/ trainer kind of guy. He spends a lot of time with coaching staff. Some of his duties require him to work directly with B Jones. I asked him about Ferguson.
He said that Ferguson is a helluva QB. He said that if Ferguson was on the UT 2015 team that he MOST DEFINITELY would have been in the race for the starting position (over Dobbs).
Obviously, he thought highly of Ferg's talent. (For you lurking vol fans, I am not disparaging Dobbs. I am just praising Ferg.)

As far as negatives, he pointed out that the only reason he was no longer on team was due to his not complying with team policies. Young man ,at least at that time, had some issues. I guess I will call them maturity issues. But, there was/is nothing violent or disturbing in his background.
