Playmakers
The future looks bright:
Collins, Smith, Mister, Jones, Brown, Parchment = future playmakers.
If we haven't moved Brown to WR already I think we need to.
I'm sure I'm missing somebody so feel free to chime in.

RE: Playmakers
NIU has proven what exists across almost any FB board (MAC or the..NFL):
From Harnish to Lynch...to Hare...We trot out an excellent QB....NIU finds a way to win. When we suffer in the QB department, we lose. NIU has won for the past 'decade' because of our QB play. When NIU has lost...by and large...our QB play has been sub par (for whatever reason). Name several games wherein we lost and Hare, Lynch or Harnish had great games. Particularly with NIU...when our QB has been on...we have won.
YES, defense wins championships. But, the above is also true.
If we find yet another stellar NIU QB...we are good.
When you compare our stable of QBs' from 12-16 to present...amazing.

thats very true, you cannot minimize the importance of a great QB especially in today's offensive football.

No MAC team can win the conference championship without an outstanding QB.

Remember the days when we had Garrett Wolfe and Michael Turner. We had great teams but just couldn't get over the hump. QB, in college, is the most important position.

RE: Playmakers
If our O-line does not improve drastically over last season, our playmakers won't be making many plays.

Totally agree...Austin Boucher was a stud.
Really though, he's the only exception to the rule...pretty much the squad with one the top 3 qb's wins it every year. Totally maximized at this level of football because there is depth at the skill positions but not in the trenches or front 7 on D to the same extent.
