You're missing the funniest part of half-time. They scheduled the Streetsboro 6th grade team for the half-time show. Streetsboro's mascot is the "Rockets" and their colors are blue and gold. RE: Toledo @ Kent State
This might be an unpopular opinion on here but I actually feel slightly better about our team going forward after last night than I did before the game. Cancer and Edwin played very very good games which is incredibly important going forward. I think we can still stay in every game IF our top six guys all play well (Thomas, Cancer, Edwin, Hall, Spicer, and Ortiz). The big problem is ever since Pollard went down Spicer and Ortiz haven't played well. We need those two to play well every game to have a chance. Unfortunately they've been two of the more sporadic performers in recent memory so it probably won't happen.

Another comment, Jimmy Hall might be the worst officiated player I've ever seen. What I mean by this is they allow guys to get away with hand checks and body contact on him that is normally no-brainier calls. At one point last night a Toledo guy aggressively double teamed and immediately put both hands on Hall. After no call was made Hall was forced to attempt a cross court pass that was picked off. They sure don't ever miss it when he hand checks a player though. He's also called for an insane number of travels. He absolutely travels some times but at this point it seems he has the reputation of traveling a lot so they anticipate the calls. Sendy was pretty livid when they called him for one in the first half then lost it when they missed an obvious travel on Toledo that led to a three a short time later. I think think part of this is on Hall. I think his antics rub refs the wrong way but that's no excuse for officiating him differently than other guys.

Last comment. Nothing matters if we can't close out on three point shooters. In the last two games our opponents are a combined 26-48 from three. This has been a problem all year. If we can't defend the arc we have no chance, period. It's scary to think what Akron will do to us if we can't figure it out...

If losing a fifth year senior that you brought in for one year sinks you....I suggest you reflect on your recruiting practices.

Now losing walker as well is a double whammy. So in my opinion it falls between next man up and snakebite.

Honestly,l, you would hope that pride alone will lead kent state to a few more wins this season. I'm talking about Ortiz, spicer and Thomas.

I was going to start a new thread to complain about our obviously amateurish athletic department. As a pre game show, the AD had a dozen or so significant donors walk to half count. No introduction, no nothing except for a hand shake from the AD. Who are these people? I would like to patronize their business if only I knew who they are. Just a big joke. For halftime, that was as bad as it can get. I would like to know who they are. I am sure that our AD is a nice guy but a handshake at halftime is hardly worth the trip. Our athletic department just smells of incompetence.

In the Toledo game, I did notice that the refs gave Jimmy some special attention - after he got called for a foul under the Kent basket, I can see there were some upset folks down there, and Jimmy hustled off faster than usual to get back on defense. It looked like he was getting away before he got a T. A few series later, as he was going to inbound under the Toledo basket, and there was a short pause for a substitution, the ref handing Jimmy the ball to inbound was in Hall's face, telling him something.

I spoke to a former player who was upset that more guys didn't attend. They are working on a database to get more former players involved. I can think of 8-10 that live within 30 min of KSU who were no shows. The whole night was an embarrassment.

Knowing about the event isn't good enough. The Athletic Department needs to exert greater effort. I've heard the "database" excuse for almost 10 years now...

I am not saying a lot of players didn't know of the event. Greater emphasis needed to be exerted to get them there. Walk out raise your hand. Move on. We have a money maker Streetsboro rocket game to get started. I know it was stated but nice choice in choosing the only rocket team in the area

Are there really fans who care about the color and mascots of the kiddie teams that run up and down the court at halftime? (Besides their parents...)Who even pays any attention to them? I honestly cannot remember the specifics of any of those teams ever. If this is what we have to complain about, our athletic department must be doing a hell of a good job.

Athletic department seems to be doing great: http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf...short_home

"Aug. 24, 2015: Kesterson reported her coach's actions to deputy Title IX coordinator Erin Barton, the lawsuit says.

Athletic Director Joel Nielsen intervened to prevent the filing of a formal complaint and no-contact orders, the suit says."

I just thought it was funny and kind of made us look kinda dumb. During the first half I wondered why Toledo traveled so well and how they got this large group of kids there.

What was even funnier to me was how Edwin kept up the "bow and arrow" act well into the second half with his team down double digits.

Fast forward to about the 1:40 mark of this video. I believe the score is 70-55 in favor of Toledo when I about lost my lunch:

Your team is on a losing skid, your getting your butt kicked at home...aye ziggy zoomba.

Hey KSU93 how about you take a step back. Unless we are going to condemn people based solely on one person's side of the story and completely ignore due process.

It's an "alleged" rape. I understand that and yes we will need to see where it goes. She didn't file criminal charges. What happened to Linder? Was he dismissed or did he quietly transfer? So neither side looks good. Joel didn't follow title IX protocol. There is a cover up that he perpetrated
