RE: Interesting stat for those who think UAB should be blowing conference foes out.
The average RPI of our opponents this year is like 220 or so. We're 1-0 against top 100 teams (MTSU at home) and 5-4 against 101-200 RPI teams. A majority of the teams we have played have losing records. 19-4 is great and all, but keep in mind that we are often struggling with pretty mediocre to outright bad teams. Maybe we just play down to the opponent.

It does beat last year where we lost to half those sub 200 RPI teams.

I agree. Last year's team would've lost several 200+ RPI games already...we still have 4 more chances this year though at a minimum(with 3 on the road!) .

Another crazy stat:
7 (37%) of our 19 wins have been against teams 300+ in the RPI (or D2)
Alabama St.
@Troy
JSU
Hiwassee
S. Car. Upstate
UTSA
UNT
and also Seattle, Rice, and Southern Miss are teetering on being 300 RPI games.

My god you are annoying. We get it - Winning > Losing. We heard you the first 100 times. All you are doing is repeating the same stuff over and over, stifling discussion. If you have nothing else to add, just don't reply. You don't HAVE to reply to every post you see, you know.

The teams UAB played OOC, excluding Hiwassee as they play a lot of exhibition games, are 118-152 (0.437) overall, and 47-69 (0.405) in conference games.
The bright spots, regarding conference games, are S. F. Austin as they are 8-0, while Illinois State is 7-4 and Georgia State is 6-5. All other OOC teams UAB played are below .500 in conference games.
Troy is 1-10, while Alabama State is 2-7, and USC Upstate is 2-6.

Really? Does quantity of posts detrrmine greater value than quality posts that are interesting and stimulate good conversation? Thats what we are here for, right?
When I read a post and decide whether to participate, its based on content, not prior post.count. Frankly, some with large post counts are often the most tiresome to read, and seem more likely to.repel. potential new fans than attract them.

Curious as to what content in this thread led you to participate. Hope my post didn't tire you out.

Just curious, when did you graduate from UAB? I graduated in '14.

I would guess somewhere around 1940. That is still 70 years later than BBF did though.

We finally took care of an inferior team in dominating fashion without allowing them to make any sort of comeback. Good job! Keep it up.

I told the Mrs. at the half, "I sure hope we keep our foot on the gas." And we did.
It was indeed good to see. FAU, bless their hearts, were comically bad, but I'm not sure we don't thump anybody in the conference playing the whole 40 like we did last night.
