AAC is a reasonable goal and would be a good fit for us. We have to make it attractive to them to bring us on.

A 25,000 football stadium on the old site is probably not going to cut it with AAC. What are the smallest stadiums in AAC?

I agree with the above. I am a lot more interested in playing ACC and eastern FBS schools than any of CUSA other than maybe Charlotte and Marshall. Also, ODU's upcoming out of conference games seem a lot more appealing than any of CUSA's bowl agreements.

ODU can't even beat Marshall in a game where we were given two early game turnovers. What makes you think the AAC will want us? Do we have a chance against Memphis, Temple, Houston? Hell no! I don't smoke weed and I must say you guys are smoking some good stuff and I just make ask for a hit.

All of them have larger stadiums but some only fill up 20-30k seats. I think cincy is at 35k.

I'm not trolling. What makes everyone think ODU will get an AAC invite over Marshall, Middle Tennessee or LA Tech? We can't even afford CUSA and we don't have the AAC level facilities neither. At least be competitive in CUSA before you think AAC. I'm not even going to talk about the App State and FIU games... AAC? Right.

No one is saying the AAC is takig us tomorrow. ODU is in a large TV market right in middle of conference territory. Having Norfolk would be a nice boost for them. With a nee stadium in football and good attendance for football and basketball, then maybe it a possibility in thr future.

Conferences care less about how good a football program was teo years ago and more about location, facilities, and support. Schools typically recruit to the level of their conference.

Aim low and attendance will follow.

How did that theory work for basketball?

I believe we are in a much larger TV market than the schools mentioned. That makes a difference to the conference AD's.

The difference is 10,000 is a big basketball stadium. 30,000 is not a big football stadium. This decision sets the bar for our football program, and 25,000 is a low bar. Wood and Broderick have gone cheap and conservative in nearly every major sports decision they have made, and so far the results have been equally mediocre. Aim High folks.

It looks like Tulane and Tulsa at 30,000 is the smallest, though I remember people posting that Tulane's actual day-to-day capacity is somewhat lower. Tulane has similar if not worse landlock issues than ODU, so that was probably as good as they could get given the circumstances, and it *is* a nice stadium from what I've seen. They've topped 25,000 people four times since opening in 2014.

I don't know if a 25,000-seat stadium is going to be a dealbreaker for a move, but it might be a sign from the administration that such a move is unlikely even in the long-range future, so there's no point in trying to build for something that probably won't happen for many years, if ever, and focus instead on building a top-flight CUSA stadium.

So I'm wondering, what the problem is bringing the big square box building down on campus to move the stadium a little closer to Hampton blvd? It doesn't even have a first floor, seems like an easy thing to topple!

The powers that be really stepped in by aiming so low. Disgusted.

One thing I see WS doing to keepfan interest up is to schedule nearby ACC and AAC teams in our OOC. He has been hugely successful in this area and I think our OOC schedule is actually more interesting than in conference. Brilliant work if you ask me.

It's only brilliant if we can compete and win every now and then. Let's hope that's the case.

I think Bruce Stewart schedules football (no doubt with WS' approval)
