You're missing one key point. I don't think most liberals believe either act was actually criminal. Much less the fact that we're not saying they're the exact same thing. Nor are we saying two wrongs make a right. And BTW - I see conservatives make that claim frequently.

Best to not try and paint all with one broad brush.

So, I'm late to the party here but let me try to wrap my head around the issues here...

Sec of State A - Set up a personal email server, housed in their home, and used that email address to send and receive thousands of government related emails, many likely classified.

Sec of State B - Someone sent 2 emails to this Sec of State over the entire length of time they served as Sec of State to their private email account, not housed in their home, instead of sending to their government issued secure email account.

Sec of State C - Someone sent 10 emails to this Sec of State's aides over the entire length of time they served as Sec of State to their private email account, not housed in their home, instead of sending to their government issued secure email account.

I imagine all three sent and received dozens of emails (or more) every single day during their entire time as Secretary of State...totaling 10's of thousands of emails.

Obviously our liberal friends here are equating A to B to C. Must be Common Core Math.

This report errs in attempting to equate use of a private email ACCOUNT with placing classified information on a non-secure SERVER. The account exists in cyberspace, the server is a physical object.

To be clear, I don't know whether they in fact used non-secure servers or not. If they did, then their behavior becomes more like what Hillary did. There is, however, still an important distinction in that the information was only received by them, not sent, and had apparently been sent in the clear at some point before they got it. Those may seem like minor nuances to the uninitiated, but they are actually quite significant. If they did put classified information on a non-secure server or transmit it on a non-secure communications link, then they should be prosecuted as well. We really don't need to extend the entitlement of the elite to include breaking the law. Powell, in particular, as an Army officer, would have known full well not to do that.

Right now, off no more than what's in the linked article, they are talking about two different things. What the article states that Powell and Condoleeza's staff members did is NOT repeat NOT repeat NOT equivalent to what Hillary did. Again, that's not to say that further information might not come out to indicate that the two cases are equivalent, but such information is not present in this article.

Criminal or not, it demonstrates a level of recklessness and poor judgement that anybody not in the tank for her would disqualify her.

I find great irony in the fact that the Hill almost assuredly set up the private server to avoid the problems that could arise if her emails were used against her during her Presidential run. So now her attempts to avoid potential problems and embarrassment, comes back to bite her in the a$$. And boy, it takes a lot to bite that a$$.
