Which one? There were several.
Apparently, throwing people out of windows is the Czech national pastime.
WE TAKE EXCEPTION TO THAT. Besides, during the second one the heretics survived by falling onto a giant pile of horse shiit. #ethnicallytriggered

I was thinking of the one in 1618 -- not even sure why. Had a first sergeant in A-burg who used to start lecturing us about **** like that in the middle of battery formations. I'd never even heard the word 'defenestrate' until he started going on about it. He was widely considered to be both highly intelligent and extremely odd.
I remember asking him one day, "Top have you seen my section chief anywhere
around" and him responding "I saw him an hour ago, he looked kind of angular.'

You history loving Bama fan, I wanted to say that! I have so little in my life to boast about. You have a national championship team. My team beat EMU.

Yeah, your Catholics friends survived. It was a miracle.

I learned a lot about all of that history during my time at the University of Alabama.
I had a brain fart and said Alabama when I meant to say Vienna. My bad.

And probably watched a couple of National Championships to boot!
First, the Hussite Wars (criminally underrated, Jan Zizka is one of my heroes) and then the Thirty Years War. Don't let the Czechs throw people out windows!

Then you got to listen to some awesome orchestra and eat pastries on the Danube.

I spent most of my time either drunk or trying to figure out what people were saying.
When I went I had a fairly shallow working knowledge of German, because I spent most of my life with French, Gaelic, and Latin. But, I had to learn on the double quick.
I still remember the first few days of lecture and being totally bewildered because I could only pick out about 5% of what was being said. Thanks god for dates because I was able to really piece things together with those.
If you ever get a chance to go though I suggest going Vienna, Budapest, and Prague are the three most beautiful cities in Europe, followed by Bucharest.

It's pretty crazy. I think there is a total of like 5 of them, depending on what exactly counts as a defenestration.
It's a pretty brutal way to kill somebody in my opinion.

Even if l have to hitchhike, I will travel Europe. I plan to hit England, the land of my ancestors before it is swallowed up and then visit Vienna and Prague.

In my experience it's easier to do the second if you've already accomplished the first.

I'm about to move about 2 hours from Prague, the land of my ancestors.
