"The University of Cincinnati is refusing to release emails, travel records and other public documents regarding the possibility of it gaining membership in the Big 12 Conference, which may consider expansion later this week.

The Enquirer asked for the documents, including UC President Santa Ono's travel records, in a Nov. 17 public records request. Two UC attorneys recently completed their review of the documents, usually a final step before public records are released."

"It's possible UC officials are trying to be careful not to risk messing up a potential opportunity to move into a major conference, which could generate millions of dollars for the university, raise UC's national profile and move it to the right side of a growing divide between the haves and have-nots in college sports."

Or, its possible that nearly every open records request is delayed, fought, unnecessarily rejected, etc.

Or, they don't want to admit they have been trying to sell themselves to the Big 12 in case it pisses off their current league, or in case they don't get in, or in case they were told by their new overlords not to.

Or, because the admin accepted a donor plane or a Big 12 jet to go tot he conference - and think it would look bad.

Or, because there is something else in those records that would look bad. Like maybe there is some dissenting voices trying to get into the ACC, and the school doesn't want to piss off the Big 12 if they actually came knocking.

Or, because it gets people talking about Cinci football in the off season, so sweet!

Good for UC. I'm glad there is a university and attached fan base that uses some judgement in what is shared/flaunted.

I was sad after the Memphis football game debacle and have never really recovered as I saw my team get worse as the season went on under that clown we have as a head coach.

B12 isnt expanding until 2019 or later (if at all).

UC and Uconn will move on once the B1G and/or SEC start picking off the B12 and/or ACC teams again.

Texas schools really covet the Florida market. Strong belief Florida market is necessary to keep pace with SEC long term. USF much stronger candidate than UCF! USF has facility plans if invited to P5.
Cincinnati now has the support of almost all Big 12 schools. Cincinnati strong as Tier 1 Research University, strong academics, educational growth coupled with athletics growth.
Fox Sports pushing Big 12 Expansion, with very favorable numbers. IMG involved, as is CBS Sports. ESPN laying back for now, but will be involved.
A lot of work required by Texas and ESPN to make a B12 Network come to life. Seems Texas will listen at least.
Lack of support for Memphis. What does Memphis have in common?
Houston still in play.
B12 coaches want a CCG! Of course they have no vote."

I actually think Uconn and Cincy will be in the big 12 within 3 years. The Big 12 will make one last attempt to hold that crap storm together and in 10 years or less it will fall apart.
There will be a leftover 6 teams who will rebuild it and probably 6-8 of us will end up going to that conference. I have no doubt USF will be one of the invites. Long term, I think many of us will be in a watered down Big 12 and I am ok with that. It wont be much worse than the ACC.
Look at the performance of Baylor, TCU and KSU over the last few years.... add in the accomplishments of Houston, UCF, Cinci...and Ill include Uconn since they did go to a BCS bowl and have several NCAA championships. That group alone is equally as impressive as most of the ACC.

So it will end up with 2 power conferences (Big 10, SEC) and Mid level power conference (Pac 12) and 2 lower power conferences (ACC and Big 12,14,16)
