Dukie V has gone off the deep end
Watching the ND/ Miami game and this dude proclaims the Big 12 to be slightly better than the ACC this season. His opinion based on the tough games. Really? Ok, you have Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa State, West Virginia and Texas or Baylor. The rest is garbage. And, I am stretching it with Baylor.

Espinner has been pumping them up all season....just like last season. Either it's a marketing thing to get viewers or they have taken sides in which conference they want to survive.

In any event, the B12 crapped out in the Dance last year...we'll see what happens in March this time...

I actually agree with him that the Big 12 is the better basketball league this year in terms of the regular season. It's the PAC 12 placement as the second best bb league by some that bothers me.

It's still to be determined which league will shine in March.

Cheers,
Neil

You just listed 60% of their conference. You have to remember that the Big XII only has ten teams, not 14-15 like the ACC. Top to bottom, the Big XII is probably the toughest league in the country. Kinda like the old ACC when we only had 8-9 teams.

Carolina, Louisville, Virginia, Miami, Pitt, Duke, Clemson (surprise team of the year) equal the top of the ACC. FSU, State, ND, Cuse and VaTech equal the middle. GT is closer to the middle than the bottom. BC is the doormat of the league.

I understand the perception that the Big 12 is a meat grinder and I understand that it is due to the size of the conference and the round robin play. But, those teams face breaks when they play OSU, TT, KState and TCU. The only break a team faces in the ACC is BC and then it depends on the team. The Big 12 is a good conference and it certainly have quality OOC wins. But, it isn't as strong as the ACC from top to bottom.

If Duke is in the top, the team that beat them (@Duke) and will probably end up with the same record as them (despite having a coach suspended for 9 games) should also be in the top.

(16-6) Duke's remaining schedule: NCSU, FSU, UNC, UVA, and UL x2.
(16-8) Syracuse's remaining schedule: FSU, BC, UL and Pitt

OSU, TTU, KSU and TCU are just as good as VT, NCSU, Wake and GT. BC is worse than all of them. Hell, Wake might be worse than all of them at this point. From top to bottom, the Big XII is the superior conference.

I'm just waiting to see if this superior conference will get more than one out of 7 teams past the first weekend of the tourney this season. Because they failed to do so last season.

Good point, but one year of failure (or success) in the NCAA Tournament, isn't an accurate way to portray a conference's strength. One year can be called bad luck or a fluke, while two consecutive years of failure could be considered a trend.

It'll be interesting to see how the Big XII does this year in March.
