Does anyone know what our previously highest ranking class was? I'm assuming that we've beaten that with this class by a pretty large margin.

Honest question -- is our ranking artificially high due to starting from scratch? We get more scholarships, correct?

Yes, however what really matters is the average rating. Our average rating is still pretty high even though we have 43 athletes in the overall class. A lot harder to keep your average rating up when you have to take nearly double the players as other teams. We don't exactly have the option of cherry picking right now.

Plus, a lot of JUCO players are astronomically underrated, and the star system is semi-rigged nased on how many subscriptions certain fan-bases buy. Alabama, Ohio State, etc. are all the time having players getting bumped up a star after committing.

That 2003 class (I looked it up) had two three-star players, most others with two. Highest rated recruit was Russellville PD Sgt. Jake Tompkins.

So I'm guessing that the services hand out a lot more stars these days?

It depends on the site, right? I heard on the radio yesterday that certain sites only base the ranking off the top 18,20, etc players in each class. This is due to the fact that most teams aren't signing exactly 25 each year.
