As most of you know, Wichita St in the past few months, stated they would study the possible return of FB but only at the FBS level, no consideration for FCS. They said at the time that they would have to look into changing conferences if they did decide on FBS football. Well, the prez of that school just tweeted some interesting tweets on the subject. So when our conference board recently said they discussed possible expansion, did they have WSU in mind because of their MBB program? Coupled with Arkansas St and it's proximity to Kansas, that would be the two to expand with. One very good in FB and one very good in basketball.

I would love to have the Shockers personally. Good basketball, good fan support, and they have Koch money behind them.

Can't imagine we'd add 2 in the west though. Would we move UAB and USM over to the east in a situation like that?

Been wondering when that would happen... wouldn't surprise me to see the AAC add them. They've got a history with some of those schools, in the MVC.

I have a feeling they're MWC bound if they make the move

Just add UAB to the east for number 8 and then WSU plus Ark St to the west for 8. Easy peasy.

CUSA should make a play for them, but I can easily see them in the AACK if they are willing to weather the startup phase for their football.

Cant see the MWC or AAC taking a move-up. And their basketball is strong enough where they don't need a quick boost. I think CUSA would be a great fit for Wichita St. CUSA should rival the MVC in quality most seasons, so that is a wash, plus they'd get in on some decent football quickly. If its between us, SB and the MAC I like our chances. Bring in Wichita and UMass and I like it even more.

Personally, I'd be surprised if you could just cherry pick Arkansas State from the Belt. Perhaps, TXST, ULL, GAST due to improved geography, rivalries and reduced travel costs. Definitely Idaho and NMSU are shoo-ins to any conference to add them in all sports.

I've said this before and I still believe it - the days of C-USA simply cherry picking just ANY Belt school they want are pretty much over due to the monetary and quality parity when all is considered. I know there's probably nobody on this board who agrees but things change and things have changed. It now takes a Belt school a +or- $5M investment just to make the move now.

I can't imagine that we wouldn't offer an invitation if they do, in fact, pick up football.

Their timeline for entry would probably mimic UAB's, so it would work well to offset them.

That said, any other additions or divisional realignment would likely depend on what may or may not happen with the Big XII and the fallout from that.

TULSA only logical travel partner.I see'm trying for the AAC.


Would be nice though.But with the declining TV deal and travel concerns.No C-USA travel partner,etc.- it looks doubtful.Also a lot of disadvantages to a 16 team G5 league.

WSU may study football but w/o what they think is the "best" conference invite they may not start f-ball.

I suppose they would improve our next TV deal--but probably not enough.

North Texas-- 4 1/2 hours from Wichita.But one look at our current RPI may scare them off.

Getting Wichita State would be AWESOME but there's no way it happens...at least not in this version of C-USA

We better be trying our butts off to make it happen. You know their pie-in-the-sky goal is Big 12. But who knows if that will happen. So no excuses, pursue it as hard as possible even if we fail it's worth it to try
