Thoughts on other Schools signing day
WMU gets an "A" based on size and ranking. Toledo did a great job as usual. Notre Dame has a good class. Northwestern did ok for themselves. Illinois did aweful. Maybe 4 years from now it will be ok but based on number of decommits and last minute switches, they had a crappy class. Michigan got the #1 guy. I guess recruits love nut jobs (see Harbough and PJ)

Calling Harbaugh a nut job isn't unwarranted, but don't lump him in with PJ. Harbaugh was one of the best coaches in the NFL before he went to Michigan.

Didn't say he wasn't a good coach just both have more than one screw loose.

What's the line from Vegas on who wins the MAC recruiting title? My money is on PJ to walk away with the coveted trophy. [Image: happy-smiley-emoticon-holding-trophy-ill...949418.jpg]

Poor Toledo! They lose the MAC conference title to us and the MAC recruiting title to WMU. There is just no justice for our friends from Ohio! 03-weeping

Harbaugh did what was necessary to bring in one of the best classes in the Nation. Michigan will be a preeminent team for as long as Harbaugh is at the helm.

Thought the Eagles had a chance to sign RB Kentrel Moran (decommit from U of I due to academics) but he may not have the grades for EMU either. Too bad as he's the top rated IHSA RB per rivals.

I believe this is the 3rd straight #1 recruiting class for WMU. If they don't win the MAC West pretty soon they will be in the same boat as Toledo had been under Beckman with the top recruiting classes and disappointing losses.

Yep, time for PJ to deliver.

Sometimes I wonder if they spend too much time recruiting and not enough coaching. If you have 150+ offers out, you are texting, calling, emailing, talking to recruits a heck of a lot.

RE: Thoughts on other Schools signing day
Huskie fans need to be patient as this is just the first day of signings. Still lots of uncommitted talent out there that NIU can nab (lots of it instate) which could positively impact NIU"s class ranking.

NU did well also, in the top 50; would have been much higher if OT Eric Swenson commited to NU after Michigan dumped him but such is life. Hard to argue with picking Oklahoma as they will be contending with TCU & Baylor every year for the B12 title and their golden ticket to the playoffs.

If recruit ratings were the most important determining factor in the W-L record, NU wouldn't win more than 2 or 3 games a year as the Cats are almost always near the bottom of the B10 in recruit rankings.
Who can coach up the talent they get better is the bigger determining factor in the W-L record.

Harbaugh inherited a team in disarray, quickly went to a Super Bowl and in less than four years destroyed the team. It was all about the camera, which it is now. Thugs, criminals, lack of discipline. He's a great self promoter, nothing more. Pretty sure we can check back here in four years and Michigan will not have a Big Ten Championshhip at any point in between.

That seems to be what some ex-players are saying. His manic attitude and energy is inspiring at first, but eventually you see he's really just a bit psycho and it grates on you. But who knows, maybe with the college kids only being around 4 years they will handle it.

Hey guys.... Harbaugh didn't destroy the 49ers. That was their ownership and GM. Yea he's wasn't a players coach but not everyone can be Lovie Smith. But seriously, it wasn't Harbaugh. Try again.

Poor Rockets! Highest ranked MAC team in the final polls:
#30 in AP votes, #28 most votes in Coaches' Poll, #25 in CBS's rankings.
Where is the justice?03-weeping Not bad for the #3 MAC West Team.

If you're ok with the 8-6 record and an embarrassing 55-7 Bowl loss , I guess I can live with losing to NIU.

Guys, I get the rankings and stars are very overrated conversation. Still, when channel 7 news shows a graphic of NIU having the 127th ranked class in the country isn't that a concern? That's like almost dead last. Seems like a ranking that extreme could be an issue. Have we been that low in the past. Feels li,e we should be in the 70's at least to maintain success.
