And the staff had no idea why.

That was the real problem. Nobody on the sideline seemed to know that we didn't play in the CFL.

Didn't they try to do it twice?

I believe so.

I know it was more than once could have been 3 consecutive or 2 consecutive followed by a false start

I remember the first play from scrimmage under Fuente I stood and cheered because we actually ran it right

Much of the crowd did as well, funny as hell.

and if memory serves me...didn't we get a penalty on the kick off and had to start inside the 10?

The final count: 16 signees, plus the 5 midyear additions. All scholarship slots now full. Mike Norvell: "This is a home run hitting class."

So, Coye Fairman, Sanchez Blake and Jonathan Timmons must be PWOs.

Best I can tell, Fairman would be on scholarship. Hill, Blake, and Timmons would be the PWO's.

Blake is not a PWO.... He will either be in this class or gray shirt to finish rehabbing from a recent surgery and officially enter next December.

Correct but it was the 1st game of the 2nd season which makes it worse penalty on kick off then 2 consecutive illegal formations

There was a TE that was supposedly deciding between us and Bama, he had once been an A&M commit. I do not see him on the Alabama haul, anybody know anything?

Why the hell would a kid choose Bama over Memphis?

Robby Young at 6 '4 250 will be a Junior and should compete for strong side TE this upcoming year.. He signed out of CBHS.. Caught a 29 yard TD pass his Freshman year.. Big strong kid that had trouble getting playing time with Cross being here..

Porter's classes were more highly ranked than Fuente's........and they got pummeled like 47-3 by the likes of Arky St.

Give me the guy who knows how to push the right buttons and find the diamonds in the rough over the guy who can get the more highly acclaimed players, but doesn't know what to do with them.

TM

Half of porters class never made it to campus. Porter also was a position coach. Mike Norvell and Justin Fuente were OC and the HC right hand man. They had prep in running a team.

Half is a little over the top but he did lose some as non-Qs. JF did benefit greatly from Porters talent.

Benefit greatly???!!!
He inherited an ABSOLUTE disaster!!! Only 55 scholarship players and FOUR of those were kickers!!!
Norvell will benefit greatly, but let's get real about the Porter years.

Porter never had a chance. He walked into a mess. Rey Dempsey was program killer worse than any coach before or since. What an idiot.

Dempsey?

What do you mean?

To put it bluntly.. Why sign him?

We brought in quite a few WRs and don't really see the need. Would have liked to see that spot go to a TE or OT

GTG normally lists the PWO's bios along with the others on the day after. I haven't checked this morning.
