Next season this thread will be more relevant. Today it is premature because we don't know what Raven Lee we'll see next year (unless somewhere here has a really good crystal ball).
Steve, I agree with everything you just wrote. I am just perplexed because it was not long ago that a Rob Murphy coached team had difficulty scoring 46 points...AS A TEAM! Is everybody so jaded that they don't see what Raven did as phenomenal?
I think some people in sports (Matthew Stafford comes to mind) are just NEVER going to please certain people. I don't know how Lee could have done more in his limited minutes that he played. He played a near perfect game.
As for the pro scouts we have here, it is silly to completely rule out a very talented player's chance to make it on an NBA roster in the future. You and I remember Charles Thomas making a good Pistons roster for an entire season. Charles Thomas was a great kid but not nearly as talented as Raven Lee. His brother Carl also played in the NBA for a handful of seasons.

This would be about 5 times Murphy's salary....now wouldn't that be poetic justice!!!!
Is he really well versed in Chinese? I did not think about it before, but Lee is a Chinese name. Is his dad Chinese?
Yes, Rvan Lee speaks Mandarin Chinese. Rumor on the street is he might go play in China after EMU and become a millionaire
I hope he can use chopsticks better than he can play defense. Old Chinese proverb the bigger a man's head the smaller his paycheck
The man scored 46 mother***ing points in his last game in less than 30 minutes. Let that sink in for a minute. You are still going to dog Raven Lee? You have just put yourself in the rarified air of stupidity that only EMUSuperfail inhabits. What are you thinking? His defense has NEVER been bad, he plays great defense actually. Do you understand the game? Maybe you and super-F should just stick to watching the ladies. I cannot tolerate ignorance!
I agree that Ray plays awesome defense. He is the quickest guard in the MAC. Raven is always looking over his shoulder if he misses a shot or makes a small mistake and the reality is YOU CANT PLAY THAT WAY. Based on Raven's offensive ability alone, he deserves to be allowed to make a mistake or two as long as he plays hard. However, after one mistake he gets yanked - not if I were the coach!!!!! Go Raven!

I can't stand all the negativity about Lee on this forum. How many of his critics can speak a second language? Heck, some don't even have a hold on the English language. Yet, they have the nerve to call Lee a "head case".
He seems like a good kid and a great basketball player. He just brought some much needed and valuable national attention to the school and program. I am proud and grateful he is associated to my alma mater. STOP DOGGING THIS KID!
This forum is known for its mind-numbing threads.
This one is a classic...
Geez, yesterday was national signing day in college football and this thread goes on forever...
1) It's hilarious you felt compelled to post shortly after declaring this thread a dead horse.
2) If we want to celebrate Lee's achievements- however excessively in your opinion- what is the harm in it? You'd rather us celebrate football signings??? Which one was worthy of capturing the interest of a wide national audience of those without any association to EMU: Lee's display of basketball skill or EMU football recruiting.
I enjoy many of your posts Steve. But sometimes you can be amazingly illogical.

Thomas twins had a better work ethic and attitude than lee its an
insult to them to use them and lee in the same sentence just accept the fact that lee has issues and move on fanboy

I can remember emu players having a key to get in the back door of rec and scrimmage and mofu players after closing. Lee hates to practice. Earl and team would run together and practice on their together nearly everything they did was as a team. Lee hates to practice.

Raven Lee loves to practice. He loves, loves, LOVES to practice and afterwards, it is a DUNK CLINIC! Oh my, the dunking.

Murphy said Lee had an incredible few days of practice leading up to the Miami game. Maybe he's dropped the Allen Iverson act and works in practice now.
...Or maybe he was trying in practice all along.

lee was on the football team he would have booted off ling ago murphy

no one ignored the suspension. we were all bummed when it happened. we all discussed how he would be integrated into the starting lineup. we've all talked about his performance since. we all acknowledged it and moved on. so did his coach - you know, the guy who knows why he was suspended and was the person responsible for moving on or not moving on. if you want to continue holding it against him that's your prerogative (cue Bobby Brown).

'79, it's math:
FB is 22 starters + K + P.
Hoops is 5 starters.
Now back to analogies: Hasn't EMU had FB players who were poor practice players? Hill? Did they (he) lose PT?
I don't see a big difference, but in hoops, EVERYTHING is under the microscope. Not so in FB.
In FB we don't know who is sitting out a game (and why), who is injured, etc. etc. (I do not post any information I hear. I believe all of it, unless it is criminal and in the newspapers, belongs in the locker room and between the coaches and players).
A number of players missed the first game the last two years yet we assume whatever we want to assume (although seeing a player along the sideline in non-football clothes suggests injury).
