Per Mike DeCourcey
Heard on the radio today that Mike DeCourcey stated or wrote yesterday that Memphis is not in the top 5 for the Big12, nor is Houston, if they decide to expand!! Just repeating what I heard! I've always liked Mike and over the past he seems to have been as reliable as anyone!! Just telling what I heard!!

He also said that USF/UCF is a possible package deal. That literally is not going to happen because conference networks don't work that way. Take the article with a grain of salt.

Article from yesterday. He doesn't even mention Memphis as a possible contender.

If true, probably based on delusional fans and poor basketball attendance/attempt to get the coach fired. Nice going.

He did say BYU but didn't think BYU would go!!
He said:
Cinci
UConn
UCF
S. Florida
I can't remember the last one but it wasn't Memphis or Houston..
The Radio people were shocked but stated how credible Mike is..
He has a credible person associated with the B12 is what was stated!!

Mike D. is more credible than anyone that is mentioned in tweets or whatever posted in these threads!!

Right. Or what's more likely is the B12 doesn't want to invite a school that makes such a lubricious move on hiring a coach that they basically deep six their own program, thrusting it into oblivion, forcing the largest buy-out in NCAA history. That would look terrible for any program. A PR nightmare for the conference and school alike. They probably want a school that will do everything to honor and respect its traditions, past coaches and players by loving the school and program enough to get rid of someone trying to destroy everything.

'Delusional fans'? Doubtful, but at least we love, cherish, respect and honor our program...unlike someone people I guess.

He may be, but his source may not be. It ignores logic to add both USF/UCF.

But he said it would HAVE to be a package deal to avoid another WV type hanger -- at least that means geography is still a factor.

I reconciled myself to the fact that it will never happen for us. Once we accept that fact, it makes attending athletic events more enjoyable. Our only shot was when Louisville made their initial move but our boosters in power at that time along with their puppet AD and President made sure it didn't happen. Doesn't make them bad people, they just did what they felt was best for Memphis Athletics at that time.

Sadly, the ship has sailed.

At least the city of Memphis still has another marquee program in the Grizzlies. If Cincy and UConn leave it's probably gonna be a depressing conference schedule for the rest of our lifetime.

I have read so many realignment articles from big name informed writers who claim to have sources. They are all shooting in the dark.

THIS.

I find the fact that UCONN is mentioned to be strange. All everybody says these days is that it all about football. UCONN is not good, has not been good and does not draw fans or TV sets. So whats the deal?
