McCrimmon was a grey shirt last year. So technically he counts towards this class even though he signed last year and the recruiting sites listed him last year and not this year.

7 guys out of Florida. Don't know if that is good or bad. Guys get homesick early on, don't like the winter weather, etc. That is probably the most we've ever picked up from Florida.

I do remember that now.

Thanks Brian.

Good thing could be that 5 of the 7 are from the same area (Miami),so they have that connection.

Can someone explain what a gray shirt is? Do they have to pay their own way the first year?

They don't enroll until January, so they count against next year's class instead of this year's.

I think there are extra concerns when you recruit kids from a long distance away. Someone with a lot of time could chart recruits by distance from Toledo.

We need a punter!!!!!

Correct. A gray shirt goes on scholarship in January. Most don't come to school in the fall and wait until they start on scholarship, but some actually pay their own way in the fall and then go on scholarship. I believe McCrimmon took a couple of classes in the fall, which he paid for. He is now on scholarship.

I gotta say, Michael Julian can really punt. I wish he would have been used last year, but they were hesitant because he was the #2 QB and they didn't want to have to pull the redshirt off of Woodside if Julian got hurt on a blocked punt and Ely get hurt too.

Was told by the coaches, at the reception after the program, the McCrimmon has been on campus taking classes during both summer and fall. Parents paid his way. (they wanted him out of the house 03-lmfao) So he has a huge academic start. He is now fully healed and conditioning with the team.

The Blade has a list of area players who signed with other schools than OSU/UM/BG/UT and punter Hoover isn't on the list. Neither was Perrysburg's big all-state linebacker Chaz Westfall (6-4,250).

IMO our punting really hurt the team last year.

I thought our punter was pretty good. Until they told him to go Rugby.

Ranked ninth in the MAC in punting average.
