I don't think he redshirted for his 2 years at Maryland. He didnt redshirt in juco either.

Signed in 14 and played in 14 at Maryland. Kicked off team with two games left. Played juco last year. You don't have to sit out to transfer to juco. That's two years. He will be a junior. Will play two seasons for whoever it is

I just checked the UC site and he has not signed with them as of yet.
