Claiming CFB National Titles
Inspired by this Reddit thread, are there any teams currently in the AAC that can make a legitimate claim at a national title?
From that post, obviously 1973 Houston can make a claim, but are there any others as well?

RE: Claiming CFB National Titles
Ya, that year should be ND's. Best no-loss / no-tie team.
We don't claim any titles, but Tulsa has had 3 one-loss teams. (42,46,82)
Ironically, the 82 loss was to Arkansas.... the same team that SMU tied later in the season.

I think that's fair, actually. After Ohio St won last year's CFB playoff as the #4 seed, it really challenged the definition of champion since it was never decided on the field.
2009 Cincy Bearcats also belong on this list.

The 2009 team Florida hung 51 points on. Do you still not understand why everyone thought the big east sucked?

Self-hatred (also called self-loathing) refers to an extreme dislike or hatred of oneself, or being angry at or even prejudiced against oneself. The term is also used to designate a dislike or hatred of a group, family, social class, or stereotype to which one belongs and/or has.

We would have sucked more if Memphis had been in the Big East...by the way 2 years earlier Florida beat Ohio State 41-14 in the championship game did he Big 10 suck??? same margin they beat UC in 2009 season

You woulda got beat if Memphis had been in the conference
20 - 13
One big east school has finished ranked since that joke of a conference's ashes were scattered to the wind. None ranked this year.

Gonna go ahead and give 2013 UCF one, what the heck, why not. Only loss was to South Carolina by 3 who finished the year ranked #4.

That's a little unfair, since Kelly had left the Bearcats to take another job. If the CFB Playoff had been around in 2009, Cincy would have made the playoffs, and Kelly would have postponed his move to Notre Dame. It's plausible that Cincy beats Florida with Kelly at the helm.
With that benefit of the doubt, I think it's fair to retroactively award shared CFB national titles to AAC teams.

Even with BK we wouldnt have beaten Florida that night. Nobody would have. They were #1 a portion of that season for a reason. Further you had the whole on/off Urban retirement thing going on plus it was the last game for Tebow and so the whole Urban/Tebow manlove angle.
We would have played them closer with BK and his staff but I dont think we would have beaten them.
