Sorry I put this on the coaches. If you can't complete with the big boys don't make your kids think you can. Keep them off the schedule. Ever wonder why our hoops teams don't play at Duke and Kentucky yearly?

On the way to work, saw a billboard promoting the match against Navy on 64W.

Program has been ranked in the Top 25 in 10 of Steve Martin's 12 seasons. This is a down year. It's not a trend of anything downward. Last year, Penn State, coming off four straight NCAA championships, could have mounted a run at another, but opted to redshirt a couple of athletes and then plug them back in. The end result? A "down" year of 7th and now they're poised to run the table for another couple of years.

That's also a dual I could have seen ODU taking 5 matches (if Saavedra was in there). It would have been tough, though.

So let's put this in perspective. ODU wrestling has now 3 losing seasons in the 12 years he's been coaching and in the past 12 years has more All-Americans than any other coach and is one away from tying all the other coaches combined.

Gone are the days of winning duals against Davidson, Delaware State, Howard and Norfolk State. Wrestling the big dogs does make you better.

Dual recorder doesn't concern me. I watch every match and know some matches are closer than the team score. I was impressed with Markham stepping in at 133 and Coburn bumping up to hwt.
