Should of been fired 2-3 years ago. He has set our program into a dumpster fire and apathy has set in, in a big way. Nice guy, but sucks big time as a basketball coach. Can't wait till he's gone, the sooner the better.

I agree with that. My tone change on him ever since we lost that home game to a .500 team UTEP at home in 11-12 Season.

I knew it wouldn't get much better after the recruiting started to slip. The situation just sucks because he is a good person, just a bad coach.

First off, he had his first recruiting class stolen from him by the Italian guy and second it's always hard following a legend, especially as a first time coach. All things considered, Pastner has done a solid job, just not good enough for Memphis and especially coming off of how good Memphis was. We'd take his resume in that time at UH.

At least you guys are looking at a coaching change. No way Dunphy is gone after this year especially after 3 ranked wins. He'll be in position until his contract is up meanwhile we will continue to miss the the tournament and strike out on elite recruits that should be in cherry and white.

Our attendance is awful and fans have been apathetic for years.

Maybe because fans from almost all AAC teams come here to make posts about their team (and sometimes others from AAC).

So who do you bring in, if you could bring in a new head coach tomorrow who is it? Who brings the type of resume that a program like Temple deserves that would be available?

Firing Pastner is tricky...he has a buyout and I think his hair also has its own separate buyout clause.

Even SMU doesn't know who he is

He's also been receiving royalties since the 70's as well as the 90's for his TV show and movies, so that's tough to deal with.

He shouldn't have made it to last Monday --- sadly, 10.6 million is 10.6 million on both Mondays.

He would have been gone last year if not for the ridiculous contract/buyout. Hell, he would have been gone in 2013 if Dellevadova nailed that 3.

Challenge for Memphis is that it was their current AD who agreed to Pastner's ridiculous raise and $15 Million guaranteed contract.

Not only does that same AD have to deal with Pastner's $$$ still do after this year ($10.6 Million), he will be responsible for the hiring/writing of the next HC's contract...as that Coach's agent/attorney will no doubt ask for something similar to what Pastner had (i.e. guaranteed high salary 6 year deal).

I'm still trying to figure out who is Will Pastner.
