Evening everyone. In the interests of squashing any conspiracy theorists before they get started (yea yea 9/11 Cheney thermite controlled demolition etc I get it), I have removed CajunFanatico as mod on my own judgement and volition.

We may indeed add a ULL mod in the future. But for now we're going to let things settle and get the mod team acting as a more cohesive unit again.

If Fanatico has to be a fuddy duddy to keep his badge screw that.

I doubt most of us care if we have a member mod in our fan base, also. Won't stop complaints of moderator bias. You will not find many message boards without complaints of moderator double standards.

Anyone have a tl;dr on what happened?

I agree, and fwiw I think it was totally unwarranted and extremely heavy-handed.

Given the prominence that UL has in the SBC, every day without a moderator repping us is a complete travesty.

Respectfully, just in my opinion, for the life of me I have no idea why you chose to make this move but it'd have been a LOT classier to let CajunFanatico make this announcement himself vs the "I have removed..." statement you chose to announce.

He's a valued member of this online community and remember, it was the majority of members of this community who offered our nominations on his behalf to become an "esteemed mod".

Just my 2¢... carry on and thanks for letting me voice my opinion.

Here's one more point...

If the OP hadn't have pointed out the public flogging, I doubt more than a few of us would've ever noticed the missing "MOD" on CF's avatar. Of those of us who might have, probably only one or two of us would've been curious enough to ask why anyway. FWIW, I don't know CF at all - I just find this whole thread one of the most unnecessary threads I've ever seen in this forum. And that's saying a LOT.

So, when is a ragin Cajun moderator going to be selected to replace CF?

We're waiting things out for a few months and discussing different options for the future. It's the slow season on this board anyway.

Also, was it the constant bickering with LaTech fans that lost him his status? I've been on this board a few years now, but I don't really know or understand all of the rules/roles of moderators, etc.

I know GTS left this open for questions, but since this thread was recently bumped he might not have seen it and I'll address these two posts. CF has not been expelled from the board, and GTS stated his decision wasn't to appease La Tech fans (per the original post).

I think more than anything else, I think it was the way that it was handled that was so wrong. Was cf given any type of warning, etc. before being removed? I have seen other mods who don't 'keep order/civility' on the boards, but it seems they escaped unscathed.
