I don't see how any of that matters at all. Just because they are from those locations makes them tougher to deal with? Please explain. We've had that same group of guys all year. We've played better teams and we've played worse teams and never had issues like that. The only difference in this game was the opponent.

Maybe your coach had them stoked at a higher intensity level than any other game so far this season? Maybe our pre-game video over-hyped them? BTW, it is a very cool video. I'll see about getting a link for it if you promise not to trash talk me!

Southern Alabama doesn't exist unless you want ULaLa or UL-L to exist.

UL-L is perfectly acceptable.

What's amazing in this thread are the South people who relied on no evidence to reach their conclusion.

Many posters here from the Louisiana side actually were there, and many I know were near the areas of contention.
Early in the contest a double technical was called near the South bench. Why? Nobody saw it, must have been words.

Later on I saw a South player try to tie up a ball on the floor directly in front of the UL bench, and he came up swinging. That's, and a double tech was called.

In all the incidents the only flagrant foul was on a South player. The zebras could not control the South guys, and you cannot do much more than call fouls, and technicals.

One curious incident was the South coach complaining to security about students teasing "Shaq" about his play. No racial, no sexual, comments just teasing him mostly because his first name is Shaq. I don't know about all of y'all but I was teased about my name and nobody ever told me to cry to the teacher.

By the way how is this season going South? No doubt I love to hate the Jags, and they never fail to give me reasons to.

marlin's history is one of a blowhard, trashy coach. its just the way it is, his history precedes him.

I'm not gonna say the jags were innocent or whatever; it seems graves has lost the team and they likely didnt respond well to whatever man boob marlin was throwing around.

I've been a strong opponent of Marlin for head coach since year three, but he is not a trash coach, he is very professional, and is highly regarded by many elite coaches. I have zero knowledge about the South Alabama coach, and at the rate he is losing I may never get to know much about him.

Exactly. I'm not a big a fan of his, as I think we should be further along than where we are, so I'm far from being biased towards him.

To be clear, there is zero proof that he is a 'trash coach.' On the contrary....as you state he is very professional and highly regarded by his peers.

I think it would be nice, especially for basketball, if we did away with "fouls" and just let people play. Being 7'8" wouldn't have the advantage it currently has.

Also, I wouldn't mind a coach or players saying, "We hate their school and their guts! Anytime we play them in anything its about winning and, hopefully, discontinuing their use of oxygen on the planet. "

What is all this crap about being nice?

I agree and would even take it a step further. Every student athlete is allowed to take his ACT at the Wayne County, Miss site.

In all seriousness what happened in Lafayette was a disgrace. I don't know what the Cajuns did but as a Jags fan it's embarrassing. Nothing wrong with spirited play but it shouldn't have gone that far.

Agreed. These types of issues are almost always abetted by the referees. You have to understand the intensity and flow of the game and start calling some techs early when the issue is chirping, not physical. JMO
