Also, if they do expand it will test if JMU would be invited and / or show interest in a CUSA invite.

Probably just the standard pot-stir they do to keep the SBC from getting too unified. Bankowsky would throw one of those out there from time to time.
They should be careful, their natives are already restless. Going to 16 incorrectly might be that trigger to get some airport meetings going....their "Tulane".

I think Selig would actually prefer an airport meeting right now. That may be why he wants to go to 16.

The problem CUSA has is terminal. The eastern schools will not vote to add anyone west of the Mississippi. If they do expand it will be with eastern schools which will trigger the western 6 to leave and form a new league.
I think they might be trying to instigate things now.

Scroll down. Maybe you guys will get to test your theories on whether Belt schools will turn down CUSA sooner rather than later.
I don't think Ga Southern is anywhere close to receiving an offer, but I honestly think we would turn down CUSA if invited. Staying with Appy and GaSt would most likely be the deciding factor.

I recommend Towson and Stony Brook to bring the Baltimore and NYC media markets.

They should invite American University since it would bring the entire country as a market.

I think any Sunbelt school will accept CUSA, if nothing else b/c they don't want to get left behind.
Say CUSA wants ULL and Ark St. CUSA will come to them and say we want you two and if you don't come we are going to take Texas St and someone else from the Sunbelt. I think that woud scare these two into joining.

That depends, really. If they waive the fee to join, you're 100% correct. If they don't, I can see stAte and ULL telling them to take a walk.

RE: CUSA Talks Expansion
It'd be nice to get MTSU on a regular basis, Marshall, WKU, and ODU was a nice playoff series. We can make rivalries with any of them, because if they don't hate us yet, it wouldn't be long before we made them feel like it.
Honestly, an eastern conference composed of the two F_Us, GSouthern & GaStste, Coastal, UNCC. App. ODU, JMU, Marshall, WKU, and MTSU for a twelve team conference would be competitive, easily divided into Northern, and Southern divisions, without being as strung on as we are now.

No one here is turning down an invite if one comes.

No we wouldn't, our president and AD would be hung by their toenails from the goal post. We would have the money within hours.

I've got mixed feelings about it. Everyone knows our issues with Karl and the Belt office. I like our fellow teams in the Belt, but would like to get rid of the stigma of being the "bottom conference" even though we have been ranked higher than the MAC. I would love to have regular games against Marshall, Southern Miss, and Tech, but couldn't care less about UTSA, ODU, Charlotte, and FIU/FAU.
