Would be nice to sign big DT Desmond Kelly. We need our defense to be the strength of our team the first few games next season giving time for our OL to develop.

I think our roster for the upcoming season is very solid. I would like to see us sign JUCO Tight End before fall camp. I believe our roster may still expand before the season starts.

Very possible that EMU has something to do with it.

Is he playing this season? If not, then he is just 'redshirting' and earning college credits while maintaining his 4 years of playing time.

Everyone believed it was a case of academics and that Grissom would have to make a choice between staying with EMU OR go JUCO.

I think I understand this stuff well, having followed recruiting for over 25 years.

Someone, EagleKing (?), verified early on that Grissom was in school at EMU even though not listed on the FB roster (which he couldn't be).

The Luckeyone is right here.....even before Eagle King saw Grissom at the Ohio Game, we noticed that Grissom was not on the fall roster when the players reported in July-August last year. Then Grissom tweeted out he was in JC at some school in Arizona. At that time, ETough logically wrote a post that we might as well forget Grissom because he's never coming back. However, being the optimistic poster that all of you know me to be, I replied to ETough last August (this is way before the Ohio game), that perhaps Grissom is being mentored by Creighton and that we will see him in an EMU uniform next year. And wa-lah I'm right on the money.

Very, very unusual for a kids recruitment to go down like that. I'm glad I was wrong. I hope this young man is the one that can really push EMU football to the next level.
