So ... you are going to have another year of a lame duck coach, which means that he's not going to be able to recruit at a high level, which means even more of the same or worse.

ive posted similar thoughts as I am of the same opinion. I think he either leaves on his own or we're in said lame duck situation for at least 1 yr

We may have to ride this out until 2020

I don't think 2020 but I think it's feasible to see it running through at least one more season

Trust me we will be having this same convo after next year. If they won't pay him 10.6 they won't pay him 8 either

It's not what we are paying him IMO (the boosters who have pledged that $ are going to pay it regardless, unless he leaves on his known). It's more about finding $ for a new coach - does that $ come from the same individuals? New? What are the political and financial implications? Do you risk alienating or pissing off certain boosters? Does it take away from what they'll pledge for other athletic or university initiatives

If you're relying on the same core set of boosters to pay the remaining Pastner salary and come up with cash for a new coach, then things get complicated and you can bet that they will have major influence on whether he is retained or not.

Well, if he is here. Hopefully we'll make the best of it.

Until he's not here, he is still the HC. I'm rooting for him to get it. If the cash ain't there, it ain't there. 10M is a lot, I'm not kicking the boosters, they pay the bills.

Imagine this board next year with similar or worse results with Pastner at the helm mid-season.

Yeah you can't kick them for not wanting to pay 10M, but who should be kicked for negotiating such a one-sided contract?!

The frustration level will be so high, I'll end up having to ban myself.

It'll probably just be quiet, really. Not much left to say about the situation even now.

Yep. Like someone said earlier, what more is there to say? I assume even crazy people don't enjoy saying the same thing over and over.

Oh, you mean Tiger2000Bags

Get em while they're hot. Good for sports fans, family reunions in public places, and even one night stands!

Edit: why does my registered trademark keep disappearing - I think csnbbs is trying to move in on my idea

It could be that due to less talent Partner is forced to play fewer players more minutes and ends up with better chemistry and a better team.
