Wimberly is a very nice addition to this class, and addresses a key gap.

But our biggest gap is still the centepiece of a good defense -defensive tackle. None signed or committed yet. Anyone know of any who are visiting?

DT is a prime position for recruiting for us and everyone else. Good ones are hard to come by. We are going to have a ton of LBs and ends and we may have to grow our own tackles since we have another 18 months before we hit the field

Might convert a Big OL to a run clogging DT

If memory serves me right most of the DLine in the steel shield defense were converted TE's and LB's. Part of why they were so active and mobile.

With us signing so many LB, I think that is where our DE will come from and I think our DEs will turn to DTs after a year of putting on mass

I agree, one of the Miss Juco DEs said as much. Coach wanted him to put on 40 lbs of muscle

Would've been more excited if the commits were freshmen.

That's going to come. There will be some freshmen announced Wed then the next class will be primarily from HS.

Clark has a plan. The Freshmen will come just be patient. He is trying to balance this thing out where we don't have a huge reboot in a couple years.

I understand your concern, but Bill Snyder built a pretty decent program at Kansas State with huge JUCO classes every year

UAB has this NSD (Wed. 2/3) and next December's JUCO class to balance out the classes for 2017 spring practice. We may also see a number of transfers coming in as well. Juggling these classes and numbers will test the staff, but I think they welcome the chance. With all those red, blue, grey, green, etc shirts, our team may be called the "Coat of many colors team" as in the Dolly Parton song.
