Hopefully, Opie gets desperate enough to realize he's in over his head and perhaps hires a decent bench coach.
I think Opie knows his only recourse is an NBA coaching gig ala Quinn Snyder. Anyone who would hire Opie would immediately ask 'how did that Memphis gig go?'. And we would all answer => he killed the program with apathy and incompetence, all the while draining it of money.
I have to give it up for Opie. The guy single-handedly KILLED AND BANKRUPTED a really good, top-15 program. There are plenty of coaches who can kill a program. There are plenty of coaches who can bankrupt a program. But there aren't many that can do BOTH. Bravo, Opie, bravo!
The one salvation is that Memphis HS basketball is enough to potentially save Tiger basketball. Otherwise, we're the next DePaul or Houston or St. John's.
But what's your favorite derogatory nickname for Pastner?

Gumdrop. That came from our very own MemphisKitten.
Is Opie really derogatory? Cal was called Fredo which IMO is much worse. In fact it's racist. Opie on the other hand is one of the most beloved child characters in tv sitcom history

Whoever thinks it is delivered as a compliment is self- delusional, intellectually dishonest at best. At best.

And, exactly how much should be returned to adequately satisfy those who believe such a thing? Is the same expected of, say, Griz players who are not performing up to par?
Maybe those folks are probe to irrational hyperbole...
Let's see you guys donate 10% of your salary to your employer during a given year. Any given year. If you haven't done that, ever, then you're most certainly bankrupting your employer. Shame on you.

It was a very nice gesture but let's not pretend like it was 10% of minimum wage.
A more relevant discussion might be to compare Pastner to a CEO of a company with an underperforming stock.

Ol' George had an interesting opinion this morning. Anyone else hear it?
George was is and will always be a big reason why this university will always be considered "Tigah High".
If I had a nickel for every time that clown said about "how that can't be done at Memphis" I'd be a billionaire
Didn't know old George had that kind of power. Wait....he doesn't. Next exaggeration please.
He got a door to the AD's office named after him.
George doesn't have that kind of power. The school's image isn't tied to one person.
He had a plan to get us into the SEC back in the '70's but the PTB were wasting their time and efforts to get into the NFL. TN and OM would have worked to keep us out anyway.

Just say no!
No to all probes--rational or irrational not withstanding.
Haha!! Larry Brown will go into the 4 corners and hold the ball for 20min and the officials will be from 35 years ago and not know the difference.. But your right 85-68 as SMU hits 2 FT's at the end of regulation because JP forgot the only way he could win was to foul and he waited until there was 3 sec left before he realized it!!
