2017
Graham (RS JR)
Fiedler (JR)
Collins (RS SO)
Thompson (RS FR)
Childers (RS FR)

It would not surprise me to see Collins, Thompson, and/or Childers jump over Graham and Fiedler.

You are completely missing Santacanterina

I will be really interested on how this whole thing evolved. Add that to Meeks and Embry we really got some quality.

RE: Seth Collins
Right now (because of Collins signing with us) I don't think Childers will sit this year.
I think Fiedler will unless he switches positions.

Childers is already on campus and other than Graham and Fiedler he is the only other QB who is cleared for football you know he is drilling 7 on 7s right now. We will see how he looks 6-11 weeks.

I think Coach is too old school. Hare will have to lose a game this year before he will be replaced.

I believe in the story about him leaving memphis he was quoted as saying "The coach wants me to come out and compete, and I plan on competing for the starting QB role, that's why i'm going to NIU" or something along those lines. Listen, Drew Hare is fine, but the injury he sustained is a very bad one, especially if you're a mobile QB. He may be able to throw again, but he will never be able to run the same way. The job isn't his until he can prove he can still play in our offense.

Meh. I still don't think he'll be healthy enough or the same guy when he returns

Apologies if this was covered but....

How in the Wide World of Sports does this kid from the left coast (San Diego) decide to cross the Mississipi to play football in DeKalb, IL.

I understand it's not unheard of but is there a backstory....??

RE: Seth Collins
He was looking for a place where he could play QB. Our offense fits his style of play. He's a dynamic runner, but it sounds likes OSU felt his passing wasn't good enough. I'm sure when he visited, the coaching staff showed him video of Lynch playing and said "This could be you".

When Michael Tuner played for the Chargers, he went to a game and upon leaving the field, Turner looked up to him and said "hey kid" and threw him a jersey a la mean Joe Greene Coke commercial...NIU was dream school every since

He transferred twice in high school and once already in college. My guess is if he doesn't win the starting job in 2017, he'll be gone again.

Nothing against Hare but Childers fits the NIU offense much better. Hare seems more like a pro style quarterback and for this offense to be efficient, a running QB is needed.

HUGE pickup for us. If he played like that as a true freshman in the PAC12 I expect him to tear up the MAC.

With a true duel threat QB in this offense it's extremely difficult to defend. This is what we needed

1) Hare was incredibly productive in this offense
2) What are you basing this Childers statement on? High school film from two years ago?

I know nothing of his play, but I do know about coming back from terrible injuries. It's not going to be easy, and Childers is probably the best QB we have besides Hare. But we'll see what happens when they hit the field.

1) Hare was productive, but not incredibly productive to the level I'm sure most of us want out of the NIU quarterback position. Like I said, for NIU's offense to be run to perfection, a running quarterback is needed and Hare does not have much running ability. And this Achilles injury is only going to make it worse.
2) And yes, I am basing it off of his tape. What else would I be basing it off of? He is big and can run the ball. He also looks like he knows how to find the gap in the defense. Hare ran straight into the defenders time after time.

Agree with this. A little worried when and if Hare is back, he is not quite a 100%. Whether that is physical or mental(fulling trusting that tendon). He may play just well enough to keep the job, but not well enough to excel or take that next step. Hoping he's good to go. He's a gamer.

Interesting. It's looks like Collins signed early w San Jose St and enrolled there for 2nd semester of his senior year. Wonder how he got to OSU from there

Compares himself to Randall Cunnigham in the video below

EDIT: figured out how he ended up at OSU
