Didn't want to recruit. Which could explain a lot looking at his teams.

I don't think recruiting was our issue back when he was here. I'm sure to your type that he was the first of many scapegoats. How about Cyp? What do we hate him for?

Wilson is 16-3 now by the way. He must have a good recruiter on staff now lol

I personally don't have any feeling one way or the other about WW ... or even believe he was a lazy recruiter. Just saying what I heard. He actually lived close to my neighborhood over in Collierville and seemed like a nice guy.

That's the issue with the Pastner spin doctors. We are always "hearing" stuff after the fact. There's one constant in play here and that's Josh Pastner. But whatever because he's not going anywhere. I just hope in the year 2020 after 6 years of not making the tourney that we will be able to find a decent coach

Like I've always said - it's always the fault of players, ex-players, one certain ex-coach, former assistants, referees, fans, etc.

Never the person in charge of the entire charade.

Baffling.

RE: Congrats to Willis Wilson
Remember when (before filling in Luke Walton) Pastner --an, at best, lifetime 3rd assistant in his SECOND year of head coaching announced that he would simply assume the duties of both head coach AND 3rd assistant?

That was my first cue that he didn't get it. To have the hubris at that stage of one's head coaching career to announce that you got this head coaching thing down well enough that you can just do another job too was beyond belief.

I'll never get the fascination a certain segment of our fan base has for this guy. I know what some of it is, but still. Oh well unless something crazy happens we are stuck with him

There's no fascination from me. Is there vitriol from you and your ilk?

And I am not blaming WW for anything that has taken place here. I'm just saying the guy has been doing this for 20 years, and he has a losing career record. He has had 9 winning seasons in 20 years. And the knock has always been - he doesn't like to recruit. No spin zone.

To try to use him as an anti-Pastner example is amateur-hour. There are much better examples.
