Exclamation NFL Combine
So according to twitter (what isn't brought to us by twitter these days) both Mekale Mckay and Johnny Holton have received invites to the Combine.

Anyone know how late invites can go out for? I'd be surprised if Parker Ehinger or Chris Moore dont get one.

McKay has an NFL body for sure. I can see why they're interested. He needs work, though.

He was a major disappointment. He never seemed to get better. Was he not used well or coached well or did not listen or work?

I don't want to be that guy, but did any of our recruits get that much better under CTT regime? The guy brings in talent, but I don't see him developing that talent to get to the next level.

The staff ran him on two routes the entire year, so he couldn't really set the world on fire. Continuous 9's and 0's don't really afford much as a means of opportunity.

RE: NFL Combine
Just saw on twitter that Chris Moore and Parker Ehinger are in fact invited to the combine.

Of the four, i expect three to be drafted, and barring a late surge and phenomenal pro and combine days, Holton to land in any camp he wants as an UDFA. And i bet he'll stick too.

UC Players selected to the NFL Combine: Ehinger, Moore, Holton and McKay.

I am guessing Ehinger and Moore will be the most likely to be drafted. I could see both being productive players in the NFL. Would not be surprised to see McKay getting drafted late based on his measurements alone.

That's why I was never a fan of Gran. I thought his playbook for the most part pretty much sucked. They did very little from a creative standpoint to get their playmakers the ball, especially in space. Both in the passing and running game.

That's what I'm thinking as well. It's hard to argue with an OT/OG flex with longevity who has a Freshman AA, and 3 all-conference nods. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come off the boards in the second day with a good combine. Moore and McKay will both be third day guys unless Chris lights the world on fire with his 40 (which is possible). Don't sleep on someone like Mouhon getting a late round flier as well, he has potential in a 3-4 OLB roll as well as a 4-3 end in deeper packages.

I think McKay will earn at least two contracts in the NFL. He is legitimate.

Only if he decides he needs to give effort on more than 4-5 plays a game.

So UC has four times as many players going to the NFL combine than Texas.

I'd bet on Chris Moore over him. He's got enough size and has great route running and hands.

His size and ability will get him the contract. Effort will be what determines if he will stick around for a while or one of those guys who is out of the league in a couple years with no meaningful snaps under his belt

Our trio of receivers workout tomorrow.

Maybe I do have time to update this. Here is Parkers 40, the single most important drill for lineman. /s

Watched some of the drills. He did not do to bad. Me personally. I thought he gave up on some of the drills and that run.

Yeah, he definitely didn't seem to finish strong on that run. Has he done bench yet?

I did not see him do that and they where only running the top 10 across the bottom and he was not in it.

Scanning over the results on NFL's own results page it looks like he did not do the bench. Unless he's hurt, that seems like a red flag. He's got to knock that out of the park given the questions about his strength at the point of attack that most scouts are suggesting.
