Wink Why shouldn't we do a Kickstarter campaign?
Here is my question: if the narrative now is that we should move on but can't afford it, why should we not do a Kickstarter campaign (or Gofundme or whatever) with funds needed to help cover the costs "of hiring a new coach or removing pastner if felt warranted by administration" The pledges are collected and sit there but are not a referendum on josh, it's just capital to support the administration in this regard and to allow them to make a decision based on its merits. If the administration keeps pastner that's fine and the money goes back to the people who pledged.

The idea is to alleviate financial pressure on the basketball program. The administration can't publicly do something like this, they can only go to huge boosters because of how bad it would look. But fans can do this, especially fans who want to support the program but may not want to contribute money lest it be seen as a sign of support for pastner.

Why is this a bad idea?

Yes GoFundMe would be the place.

We aren't starting a new company or getting backing for a new idea to produce - not a Kickstarter.
