RE: 2016 Tribe Baseball
Apparently 5 of the 6 MLB draftees in NOVA have signed. Sara is the only one who hasn't. The 2 HS signees were drafted much higher. The other 3 signees were college players. Tough life decision for a recent HS grad, but certainly nice to have those decisions to make. Encouraging that he has not signed yet.

Also, Murdoch (UVA recruit) passed on the Nats, so he has some company if he decides not to sign.

Let's get three good years out of him and hope he gets drafted near the top after his junior year. As much as I want him to be an Indian, I hope he gets to play professionally too.

so if baseball players don't sign they can re-enter the draft in the future? the team that drafted them doesn't own the rights?

He's not eligible to be re-drafted until his junior year.

RE: 2016 Tribe Baseball
So, the big bad ACC and SEC only advance one team each to the CWS and both are the first teams out. Whereas, the Big 12 put three teams in the original tournament field, TCU, Texas Tech, OK State, and all three are still alive in the CWS. Think a close review of what those three programs are doing and how they have built their rosters would be a worthy venture and worth replicating. Can't be luck of the draw.

For as long as I can remember, high school baseball in the southeast, Texas, and California produce a ton college and pro talent. The weather is better and it can be played outside year round. When you look at TCU and Texas Tech's rosters almost every player is from Texas. I tried looking at Oklahoma State and their site was down. My guess is a lot of Texas kids also. The other thing is that most big college programs have 30-40 kids on the roster many with no scholarship money. Staying in state gets you in state tuition.

I agree with Rocco.
If you're following Euro 2016, one whole side of the bracket has opened up for a minnow to make it to the championship game, with all of the big names being pushed into the other side of the bracket due to various results.
Want to do a close review? Study Stony Brook from a few years back, and Coastal from this year.

All the Big 12 teams are eliminated. They should blow up what they're doing and copy what Big South teams are doing.

Arizona vs. Coastal, best 2 of 3, for national title, starting tomorrow night.
A West Coast team (no West Coast team hosted a regional this year) vs. a Big South team.
One difference between Coastal and W&M ... Coastal's had the same head baseball coach for 20 years.
Just went to Coastal's website. Noticed two things. First, under "Coaches", they list 14 people, including student managers. Second, their schedule this year was an average schedule.

You failed to mention that CCU also leads the nation in home runs...
Big reason why they're playing in this series.

RE: 2016 Tribe Baseball
Doubt CCU's Andrew Beckwith is able to pull off a 3rd complete game in the CWS winner take all match against Arizona Wednesday night, but with Arizona seeing that variable slot delivery for the first time, me likes CCU's chances of stunning the P5 hierarchy. Even if Bannister has a strong performance for Arizona....good stuff.....take note Charlie Fletcher.
