Not sure how 247 has Hield as a 3-star ranked #154. Both Rivals and ESPN has him as a 4-star. He's a playa, for sure. Maybe Cal should have invested his "humanitarian" efforts into the Bahamas rather than Haiti.

A good number of schools rely on 2-3 stars to build their foundation - Butler, Gonzaga, VCU, Dayton, Wichita.

Heck, I bet both Iowa and Iowa State combined have less McDonald's AAs and 4/5 stars than Memphis.

You can win with 3 stars - it takes time & coaching/development.

Two things. First the OU program was in pretty bad shape when Kruger took over so 5 stars weren't knocking down the door. Second, Kruger is a future HOF'er that does a great job putting together a roster and developing a system. His recruiting has begun to pick up and will continue to get better.

Kruger is great.

Hield is not a 3-star by anyone's measure but 247. He was a 4-star coming out of school. And he's an all-american now.
