I'm not counting on play the Hogs anytime soon. But stranger things have happened. As PTJR said "Birdman" won the Academy Award for best picture.

I really don't care if we play them. I would just like to see their arrogance get taken down a notch.

Why in hell would we want to do that?

We would not but the Hogs would.

I don't know how money distribution works in the NIT. If the home team gets to keep the money, over a base amount payment to the NIT, we'd have to consider moving the game. A sell-out at Verizon (18,000 X $30) would bring in $540,000 which is more than 3X what we would bring in at Stephens. If we got to keep the difference, close to 400K, don't see how we could pass up that kind of windfall for our program. On the other hand, the NIT might just take the majority of the ticket proceeds. Obviously, we would play it at Stephens in that case.

How exactly would they force you? I mean, sure Wally hall will write mean, terrible things about you, and there will be whining and complaining among the uneducated masses, but they can't force you to do anything.

Frankly, you guys are not that stupid.

The NIT is owned and run by the NCAA. To my knowledge, the NIT (NCAA) keeps all the proceeds money and pays all of the expenses. Therefore, it would not be of any benefit to Little Rock to request that it's home game be transferred to Verizon Arena.

And there is no way that a higher seeded team would be made to involuntarily move a game from an available home venue to satisfy the visiting team or for any other reason. Just not in the cards.

The only possible way I could see is if a decree came down from the system President, and that is not likely to happen.

Speaking of that, I wonder who they will hire to take Joel Anderson's place. I would think the search has already begun. (and maybe ended) I hope it's someone from somewhere where basketball is really important and he or she feels that way.

No more likely than that same President decrees that there should be in state games. Neither decree is coming from that office.

Ironically, if the "old" NIT still existed we would be begging them to play the game (against the pigs) at Verizon. It used to be all about money and how many tickets you could sell. No way they would play the game in a 5600 seat arena in LR, when there is one in Fayetteville that holds 20K. They might have considered an 18K arena in LR. Although, I think it used to be awarded to the highest bidder, regardless.

Wouldn't want to play them in Fayetteville. They stole one from ASU there. They absolutely stole it.

Interesting that it does not seem to bother any of the Pork posters that they would be dodging us.

For the record I NEVER said that LR athletics would request that the game be moved to Verizon. Or Alltel as some of you still call it.

I guess it will always be Alltel to me. I still called it Travelers Field when they tore it down. Old habits are hard to break.

Sorry. It just seemed that's what you were saying. As posted in this thread, the NIT is a different animal than what it used to be. A completely legit tourney now that is not subject to highest bidders or arena sizes.
