I see this as a loss. Not playing Lee and leaving yourself vulnerable to the worst officiating of the year and losing to a bad team (Ball State) is the price you pay. I just cannot see a scenario where we can get the win tonight. That is why you cannot squander sure wins at home!

If we can get solid pass first play from our PG's and Raven Lee bounces back strong, along with Thompson bolstering his POY campaign, then it will be a productive trip.

You play Lee when he earns it and you bench him when the effort isn't there. Its called coaching.

Yes, and so far coaching is not working!
Bingo!

Lee has huge talent. he also dogs it on defense a lot. none of us know if any coach would get more out of him. Look at Antonio Gates. it would have been great to have him at EMU for four years. Gates said that he screwed up here and it wasn't the fault of the coaching staff. coaches aren't omnipotent.

Hope KSU has a better video stream than our last road game.

Aaron, I don't think Lee is dogging anything. He plays good defense. Poor kid doesn't get any credit for it.

At times he does, most of the time he is jumping out of position going for a glory steal or jogging back after a missed bunny, and on those nights he sits. As any coach worth a damn would. Regardless if that hurts the team. They are there to help mold these young men, not to pump up their already inflated egos with talks of being a MVP or superstar.

Your use of "Most of the time" seems a little exaggerated.

That's fair, I'll change it to "half of the time."

It looks just as terrible as Akron's. I don't get why the two traditional powers in this conference have the worst media feeds. Weird.

don't get me wrong, i like Lee. and you're correct, i shouldn't have said "a lot". when he is in position and set up in the zone he plays good defense. there are times where he misses a shot or doesn't like a call (or missed call) on offense and doesn't get back on defense as quickly as I would like. i think these are the instances that get him in trouble with Murphy.

but yeah, i don't want to keep trashing him. i like him as a player and wish him the best.

also, i haven't said it yet, but i'm glad to have you around on this board. it's great to have another person who contributes meaningful thoughts on this board.

Great start! This is how the zone used to look, when we frustrated the hell out of opponents and didn't give them good shots.

Gotta keep it up. We started this well at KSU last year too and that didn't end well.

Short bench. 7 with shirts off. Only 4 others on the bench.

Both guys gotta slow down a little bit, but I love the defensive intensity. Keep forcing those threes...that means less shots for Hall or Spicer.
