Hell SU fumble the ball on the goaline, loses by 6

WVU was about even with FSU (WVU lost because they had 100 yard off of Penilties)

UL vs miami- everyone seen that game

In 2004 Marshall Had OSU beat, but for a lucky FG at the end of the game. In 2003 Marshall had Tennessee beat until Stan Hill got hurt (if only they had stopped the game at that point  ). Soooo, Marshall has the talent to beat UT and OSU. :snore: We didn't, WVU and SU did not beat FSU Loserville did not beat Miami and could not beat Miami(OH) in 2003.

My bad, I changed my post. When I think of the N/E, I only think of two, or three things. Cold Weather, and left of left, starting with K, and ending with a Y.

Champs bowl final:

GT - 51 Syracuse 14

Maybe you should spend more time worrying about how to beat the ACC #6, or at least hang within 5 touchdowns of them.

Last year the C-USA #1 put on a much better show than the Big East #1...but then again, so did the MWC and WAC #1's.
How could it be an Upset for Big east #1 do it.

Wow.

What a stupid, stupid comment.

Let's just take the past 5 meetings between SU and Miami for example.

1999- Miami 45 Syracuse 13
2000- Miami 26 SU 0
2001- Miami 59 SU 0
2002- Miami 49 SU 7
2003- Miami 17 SU 10

That's not even competing. Thats being dominated.

WVU I think could hang with some of those teams, but beat consistently? No way.

Quote: Senator Joe Biden, of Deleware, who headed up this sub-committee, said it is anti-trust to not allow universities such as Tulane, Marshall etc., to not have an opportunity to participate in these monies that the BCS schools are participating in. He said, you guys either get this worked out, or the government will step in, and work it out for you, and I don't think any of us what that to happen, do you?

Yes, he said that. But note what he said - if the congress makes new laws that make it anti-trust (as is his opinion) then it will be - but it will take NEW LAW. Under current law, it is the free market at work.

And if our congress has more time to spend on college football than China buying up our businesses, our health care system going down the tubes, our educational system falling apart, not to mention our children getting killed in Iraq, then I don't think those people will be in a position to have any say in the matter for much longer.

It just aint that big a deal.

Nonsense. If it weren't a big deal, then why do the BCS conferences fight so hard to keep everyone else out? $$$$$$$$$$$. If it weren't a big deal, they'd give everybody equal access, and let the money go to whoever earns it. So it is a big deal. That several million dollars that those schools get to fund their athletic programs, while the excluded schools have to pull that money in from other places. Why? Merely because of artificial demarcations brought about by collusion.

I bet you favor a BCS system for baseball as well. It'd give your SEC teams a chance to compete for the NC more often and prevent such travesties as non-BCS schools Fullerton and Rice winning national championships.

I respect my fellow posters, but the wording, congress will make new laws, was not entered into the record.

like hell they do. Pitt and UL should have good football teams but neither one of them could hang with Texas or Michigan. WVU will be competitive. Syracuse? You can't be serious.

as for the title of this thread, I don't want the BE's BCS bid. I want there to be no BCS and all deserving 1-A teams to have a shot in a playoff. In the 16 team format I like, CUSA and the BE would each likely only rate one spot, for starters.

Kinda like how you looked at your MOMMA and you couldn't figure out what it was.

Go CUSA!

Ummm, no they don't. Here is a cold dose of reality (in case you forgot):

2004
-----
SU vs. FlaSt = Loss
WVU vs. FlaSt = Loss
UL vs. Miami = Loss

2003
------
Pitt vs. Miami = Loss
SU vs. Miami = Loss
WVU vs. Miami = Loss
SU, WVU both had FSU beat

Hell SU fumble the ball on the goaline, loses by 6

WVU was about even with FSU (WVU lost because they had 100 yard off of Penilties)

UL vs miami- everyone seen that game
SO? Marshall lost on a last second field goal to Ohio State!

So what's your point?

I don't think that CUSA is more deserving of a BCS bid than the Big East, but the Big East is not more deserving of it either.
