Security can't do that unless you're being belligerent, swearing, etc.

That's why I want to email someone and complain.

I'm not in the business with arguing with security, but I do want to go over their heads with it. I want word to come down from up top that security can't make people sit down so it doesn't happen again.

Send Haase an e-mail. He was the one telling us to get up multiple times last night.

People who do that obviously don't go to a lot of sporting events

People that get irritated with standing fans are the most annoying wet blankets on planet earth. Why in the world do you go to a ball game if you don't want to have to stand some, hear loud noises and the occasional swear? If you want to avoid all those things, stay at home and sit in your easy chair where you don't have to be bothered.

On the other hand, if people are only standing to be an ass and the game doesn't call for it, that's uncalled for as well.

Someone put it well in an earlier thread. If you are the only one standing, sit down.

We now have enough fans coming that we can tell some to stay home.

I would worry he'd be too busy to bother with that. Any assistants I could email?

We were told to sit down right around tip-off. They made the whole section (113) sit down-- everyone was still on their feet from the national anthem and the tip-off.

I agree. Haase is not the person to deal with it. He has a team to run.

No, lower level seats should not go to students at halftime, they should go to other season ticket holders. At 6 minute mark of first half, season ticket holders in upper sections should be invited down from upper sections to sit in empty Frozen 100 seats in lower bowl.

Agree with above. Let's build our base but we should also include a student section behind bench of opposing team. Others do it. We can too!

Well, he responded promptly saying he would address this issue with event staff prior to the next home game. Good interaction.

Since UAB bball team been around 30 plus years market that with the students and make the student section bigger around 3230 seats.

That's good. This has been going on for years. Back when I was an undergrad circ. 2005, security told us we had to sit down in the lower level of the student section.

very pleased to hear that Reid is going to address the situation.
