USF decommit visiting Temple this weekend
Sounds like Dugans to UM is hurting USF

Four-star WR and others brave storm for Temple official visit
Kyle Gauss | Assistant Editor

With Winter Storm Jonas expected to blanket the region with as many as 18 inches of snow, Temple’s football staff is faced with the challenge of coordinating its second-to-last official visit weekend of the season with the threat of blizzard conditions looming. Perhaps as a result of the impending weather, Temple has focused primarily on relatively local targets for this weekend, with the exception of one notable player.

Four-star wide receiver Darnell Salomon, from Miami Central High School, is among Temple’s visitors for the weekend. Salomon, however, flew into Philadelphia Thursday night in order to beat the storm. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Salomon had offers from schools like Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas and Notre Dame before committing to South Florida in November. Following the departure of wide receiver coach Ron Dugans to Miami, however, Salomon reopened his commitment and is currently considering Temple, South Florida and Pittsburgh. Salomon has an official visit scheduled for Pittsburgh next weekend and is expected to make a decision on signing day.

In addition to Salomon, Temple will also be hosting a handful of current commits, a prep school defensive back that had Power 5 offers coming out of high school and a local LB/DE that is still looking for an offer from his hometown school.

RE: USF decommit visiting Temple this weekend
FYI, looks like Salomon was able to fly to Philly on Thursday night instead of yesterday (when so many flights were cancelled) so he did make it to Philly/Temple for the weekend.

And yes, this is the first time he has ever seen snow..(maybe a good thing, maybe not).

And keep in mind, he's going to get to see what Philadelphia is like after football season, you know, the time when everything sucks and no one is outside. Plus we just hired a quality wr coach. We'll be fine

Lol. What kid doesn't take visits? Until he says otherwise Darnell Salomon is committed to the University of South Florida.

Plenty that are 100% committed quit taking visits. Good to have the verbal, but he is clearly open to a flip if he is taking visits. Temple isn't giving away vacations. I don't care either way, but he isn't 100% if he is visiting schoolsm

Typical message board BS. Is he, TODAY, committed to USF? Yes. So the OP is basically lying.

Possible he may de-commit tomorrow? Sure, I think we all well understand how this nonsense works before NSD. Nothing is secure until the ink hits the paper. 07-coffee3

Especially with all that snow? You know what people in Tampa are doing? Not huddling up by their fireplace. They're going out, having fun, enjoying the warm weather. Tampa>>>>>Philadelphia

Yes, there is a blizzard everyday in Philadelphia. Dude, its not the midwest, and yes we are still going out today. Blizzards are the bar crawl ideal.

Lol. What kid doesn't take visits?

Actually, most recruits don't end up taking their 5 eligible official visits (some do), and yes, some will "shut down" their recruiting after they finally decide on their school of choice.

There's a reason why its generally good to have a "verbal", even if player takes other OV's...as 80% or more of the time those recruits stick with the team they give verbals too.

Lol you don't know jack **** about Philly. Sure Tampa is a nice warm retirement spot but you can't compare the two cities. Philly wins in food, arts, sports, history, education, public transportation, population, architecture and economic stature by a mile each. Tampa has nice weather and I'm sure it's a decent place, but don't buy into the bs you hear about Philly, they aren't close.

Just pure jealously because your boy Soloman likes Temple enough to take a visit despite the winter weather.

More to the point that it does not snow that much in mid-atlantic states, and it is only cold for three months. Its not that far north.

I do like Philly but you are freaking delusional. Tampa is considered to be one of the top destination spots in the US. We have an amazing culture and a deep Cuban and Spanish vibe (yes, theres a difference).

You can try to compare but its two different beasts. I am sure a native Florida boy is gonna love your beaches, women in bikinis and amazing nightlife.

I like Philly, lots of great history and things to see... but this argument ended with the bolded statement. 03-lmfao

I love Philadelphia, but honestly; I can't imagine a Miami resident liking what they are seeing in Philadelphia today. Poor luck in timing. He's really set on being an Owl if he commits today. :)

Results of google Philadelphia weather right now:

Do you even live in Tampa? I lived there until recently and there is definitely not an "amazing culture." I guess maybe if you've never been outside Florida, but it's definitely not as cultured as a lot of other places in the US (including Philly).
