When is CUSA going to become a 2+ bid bball league????
Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a jerk but man, we are bad. REAL bad...(and yes, USM sucks and is contributing to that 'BAD'). What has happened to UTEP, ODU, Charlotte, Marshall, La Tech, WKU...? When we added all the new teams we were all ecstatic that even though we were losing Memphis we were gaining all these strong bball programs...sorry, I don't mean to sound harsh. When is CUSA going to become a 2+ bid league???

Caveat: USM sucks

Some schools who hang their hats on basketball have been really disappointing.

Sho' as hell ain't gonna be this year.

ODU and Charlotte both went through coaching changes when they joined it seemed. La Tech just did as well. At least we're still here.

A USM fan complaining about basketball in this league is hard to read.

won't argue any of those points....

my hope was pulling in the tejas schools and tech in foosball, with the rest shoring up the hoops side....

being the eternal sadomasochistic optimist, I want to believe it can still happen.....but it's beyond disappointing at this point.....

Most things run in cycles and I believe with in the next few years you'll see 2 or 3 really good basketball teams and 2 or 3 good teams that will push the top 3. Too much history in UAB, Western, ODU, Tech, UTEP, UNCC, to not turn this into a good basketball conference. We also have a few other schools that are on the outside of those 6 but care enough about basketball that CUSA should at some point have 2 to 3 schools that are sure bets and a couple others fighting to get on that bubble.

As long as Charlotte can keep Mark Price, we will be back to our former glory in the next couple years.

I think it will be sooner rather than later. (We were close last year, thanks MTSU).

What's wrong w/ stating dissatisfaction on a message board? And why is it hard to read?

I think we need to schedule and defeat as many G5 teams as possible. Rather than lose road games to P5 schools, we should strive to become the kings of G5 basketball. Only then will we become a consistent multi bid conference.

Glad MT has put a winning program on the floor for the last 3 or so years; and want them in the Dance every year; but I got to believe Western, UAB, UTEP, and Charlotte,( all of whom have some truly MAJOR NCAA TOURNEY SUCCESS in their history) will bring CUSA up to a 2 Bid conference.

I agree with this, this season hopefully serves as the low water line. Last year we were close, ODU was last four out and LT had a tourney level team. Im still optimistic about the future. We're a ways off from having multibids every year but we can get two in every 2or3 years.

He had big dreams when it came to recruiting and never landed any whales. This left us scrambling and we would end up with a bunch of mediocre JUCOs each year. This strategy exactly the reason he never succeeded in the A10.

I have feel confidence in Mark Price based on what I've seen so far this season.

At the G5 level, I think the best way to develop a team is to have a mixture of JUCO and 4 year players. Your best hope is that you create a nucleus of kids who have been their for four years but also a JUCO or two that can fill a specific need.

If you try and count on JUCO's for the majority of the team however, they don't have enough time to gel.

On the other hand, if you rely only on 4 year players, a lot of those don't pan out.

When the conference mandates some schedule changes and puts pressure on teams with below 275 RPI's to invest and improve! I am referring to IN and OUT of conference sched. changes.
