We better win at least 4 this year. It is going to take years to repair the damage that the last 3-4 seasons have done to our football program. The rebuilding needs to start NOW!

Absolutely, you can win 3-6 games. Four is certainly not out of the question. If you don't mind throw in an upset, and concentrate on Morgantown.

We should cancel the Morganhole series. Our fans can't even go there without being assaulted. Last year was particularly bad.

Four? We can hit that. I think the biggest question is can we pull six out. Considering the first four games are:

Duke at home - I'll say we'll win, but it's the first game, and there's a lot of questions to answer
At Wake - going to be tough, they've had our number for five years now
At WVU - forget it
Southern Miss at home - going to be difficult to win this one; we've had much better teams and were slaughtered by the Golden Eagles

Best case in my opinion is to start 2-2. 1-3 is much more likely. With games @Memphis, @ Marshall, and UAB to close the season at home being probable losses as we stand right now, that's six losses with a 1-3 start.

If nothing else, there's enough reason to think we can at least threaten to go to a bowl game this year. That will be a welcome change in and of itself after the last three seasons.

I think all ECU fans will be pleasantly surprised with the wins and competitiveness of the team!!

It will take a few games to get running on all cylinders but just watch them progress.

Remember, this is only year 1 of the rebuild.

That's why I think we'll have to be patient through the first four games. After that, if the team continues to mold and doesn't get frustrated by the first four games (which COULD be rough on us), we'll finish the season fine.

I think Year 2 will be the first major test. With a full year together to recruit, a tougher schedule on the slate for 2006, and a year under the coaching staff's collective belt, I hope the fanbase doesn't get too overly optimistic if we do win 5 or 6 this year.

Then again, I'd love to have that problem again. :)
