The CBS Announcers are always pimping Pastner.....
Parrish is doing his best to protect Opie but the ESPN folks called a spade a spade last night and said the Tigers have trouble finishing.

Our coach gets exposed when he had to match wits with a real basketball coach during crunch time. If the Temple guy doesn't hit Tarrant in the mouth, he loses another conference game at home.

Sad. And the look on Damon's face is always telling.

If you'd like Pastner coaching elsewhere, and you'd like it without spending $10M that you don't have, then you better hope they do a great job of "pumping" Pastner.

A. I'm not the one responsible for the stupid contract extension with no buyout. Whoever did was a moron and I don't care how much money he has. He may be good at whatever business he's in but as for recognizing coaching ability he's ignorant

B. This is a message board for discussion on tiger sports. We talk about whatever the hell we want to talk ahout.

Record vs. tops AAC teams (since 2013):

Louisville: 2-0 (L'Ville finished in Sweet 16)
UConn: 2-4 (UConn won a National Championship, then finished unranked following season)
Cincinnati: 1-4 (unranked, then finished Top 15 last year)
SMU: 1-3 (unranked, then finished Top 20 last year)
Temple: 3-2 (finished unranked last 2 years)

So, we have an overall losing record against top AAC teams since 2013.
Of the current top teams in the AAC we have a 7-13 record...only winning record vs. Temple (who hasn't finished as a ranked team in the last 2 years)

of those top AAC teams - they finished the season unranked 5 total times in the last 2 years - far from dominant.

With the rosters Josh has had, we should be better than what our record shows...plain & simple.

Elmore and Patrick are the best in objectivity and easy to follow, in my opinion. I think Elmore is tbe best color guy period. He has no agenda. Last night was a great game and could have gone either way. I think turnovers and selfish shots at critical times cost us the game. We were prepared, had a good game plan, and no lack of effort. Lost to a good team on their home court.
Coaching was fine last night, based on what I saw.

Unlike others, i didn't come here for a history lesson. It's the future I'm interested in. This team is improving. These announcers saw us earlier and were far more complimentary last night for good reason.

We lose Tarrant , Shaq, Burrell and more than likely Dedric after this season

Our early signees are a rail thin 6-8 juco and a 5-9 volume scorer. We aren't in on anyone else with a pulse.
We will need to win the conference tournament to get an NCAA bid and even if we do it will be a double digit seed more than likely.

When is this "improvement" exactly going to pay off?

The future of this program with Pastner in charge is nothing less than bleak. Pastner's ability to recruit in Memphis is over....he's poison. Our recruiting class going forward will consist of JUCO's, the "diamond in the rough" high schooler, and the problem child transfers. Yay.
