The land they are buying is south of the loop, SW of Reliant. On a map follow Buffalo Speedway south to W. Bellfort. Almost everything south of there, on both sides, all the way to Willow Bend/Holmes Road, is what they're picking up.

I did not think the land was vacant.

I am looking forward to a large alternative UT presence in Houston. I was made to believe that this campus was an experiment in the next generation of college education.

Poor Coogs have a closing window of relevancy.

The land is completely vacant. It's never had anything on it in the 50 years I've been in this area.

And for those of you interested in Houston history, there was an illegal casino just off the west edge of this tract. You can read about it here: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/...on-casino/ . They were shut down in the late 1950s, but the remains were still there off the Old Main Street Loop when I got here in the '60s.
