North East FB Question
Hey guys, just passing through and I was wondering if any of my former Big East buddies have heard any rumors of playing us in FB anytime soon? Would love to see games against Cuse and Pitt again. Heck even BC would be fun.

Cheers!

That ship may have sailed. I personally would like to see a viable northeast conference that included Penn St, ND, WV, Pitt, SU, Rutgers, BC and possibly Maryland, Louisville and Cincy.

Rutgers would fulfill the P5 requirement. BC has an opening (2021). Git 'er done!

I believe it has as well. Refusing to invite Penn State slowed it. Losing WVU crippled it and Syracuse, along with Pitt leaving, killed it.

To the OP: I haven't heard anything

To everyone else: I think that there's still hope. The age of mega conferences will pass, and I think that small, regional conferences will take their place.

RE: North East FB Question
It is difficult for Louisville to schedule out of conference games because of:

1. 8 ACC games
2. 1 Rivalry Game - UK
3. Home games to get to 7 (years UK away)
4. Kick-off Classic at Neutral Site (Purdue, Alabama)

Louisville has stopped playing its oldest rival, Cincinnati because of the above.

The schedule is just too full.

Could happen with Pitt in the future because I believe our new approach is not to schedule IAA teams anymore. I haven't heard anything indicating Rutgers would be a target, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

Pitt-Rutgers could definitely happen but nothing is currently in the hopper. Obviously, our first priority is Penn State, followed by West Virginia. From there, who knows? Rutgers certainly isn't a priority but it is absolutely a possibility.

Unlike most SU fans, I want to see us play Rutgers on a regular basis out of conference. At least 4 games a decade. I'd also like to see us play Army 4 games a decade as well.

Don't think either is going to happen though.

Cheers,
Neil
