Cheers!

Unlike most SU fans, I want to see us play Rutgers on a regular basis out of conference. At least 4 games a decade. I'd also like to see us play Army 4 games a decade as well.

Don't think either is going to happen though.

Cheers,
Neil

We have the Army part, we just need the Orange part! haha

1. 8 ACC games

Louisville has stopped playing its oldest rival, Cincinnati because of the above.

The schedule is just too full.

That ship may have sailed. I personally would like to see a viable northeast conference that included Penn St, ND, WV, Pitt, SU, Rutgers, BC and possibly Maryland, Louisville and Cincy.

Oh im not talking about a conference just OOC games against our former conference mates.

You guys could at least agree to schedule us in basketball. A lot more flexibility than football.

I initially thought there was opportunity to schedule the game because of the relationship between Pitino and Cronin but I am now hearing that the relationship is exactly why it is not being scheduled.

Hopefully we'll see you in hoops once in awhile...but I doubt it. Too many games with GTown, Nova and St Johns.

To everyone else: I think that there's still hope. The age of mega conferences will pass, and I think that small, regional conferences will take their place.

Will any of us be around to see it?

I think that it will be within 30-40 years, maybe less.

I find it amusing that some folks think 80 is the threshold for worrying about naptime and irregularity. They are overly optimistic. 04-cheers

Perhaps they should be more concerned about whether they ever see 80 at all...

Rutgers can always schedule UMass and UConn if they want to play schools in the NE. For some reason I don't think they'll do that. 03-shhhh

RE: North East FB Question
Pitt's AD said the following yesterday about scheduling. Looks like he's trying to focus on adding regional rivals:

For basketball, Barnes said he already has had discussions with coach Jamie Dixon about increasing the brand names on Pitt’s non-conference schedule, and adding regional rivals West Virginia and Penn State to the mix.

“Let’s play the West Virginias and the Penn States in everything, basketball specifically,” Barnes said.

Both schools already are on future football schedules, but Barnes said he’s constantly working on trying to find the right formula there, as well.

Louisville has Kentucky, ACC/B1G challenge & Indiana starting next year. The series contract with Western Ky ended this year & not sure if it will be renewed. The Billy Minardi Classic takes up another spot. I would love to see Cincinnati on the schedule but Pitino prefers to limit the OOC schedule to 3 quality teams (top 25) because of the strength of the ACC. You would think there would be a spot for Cincy though, maybe alternate between Cincy & Memphis.

Louisville doesn't want to add Rutgers as a basketball non-conference opponent in place of someone such as Samford, Eastern Michigan, Grand Canyon, or North Florida. It'd hurt our SOS. 04-cheers

Joking aside, all of those teams do have better RPI numbers than Rutgers #236.

Yeah it's bad right now, but we survived Craig Littlepage. They will make it to the dance before I die (I hope). I'm 50 so I've got some time.

Quincy Douby in the Garden was the closest I've seen. That guy was fun to watch.
