Texas State pregame
They are 8-6, with two of their wins against non-D1. They are 2-3 in conference. Their best win so far was probably over USA in Mobile.

They probably will start 6-8, 6-7, 6-5 across the front line, and have a 6-11 kid on the bench. They will not go nearly as deep as we will. All five of their starters will play at least 25 minutes per game.

As usual, their strength is their defense. Opponents shoot 41.3% overall and 31.8% from the arc against them. They are plus-2 on the boards.

Emani Gant is their go-to guy. He averages 14.9 ppg and 7.7 rpg and shoots 51% from the field. He is purely an inside player, having attempted only one 3-pointer all year. Gilder-Tilbury is their other double figure scorer at 12.4. They have a couple of pretty good 3-point shooters. They will play at a slow pace.

Given the styles of the two teams, this game could fall into the "ugly" category, with two strong defenses going against each other.

We cannot afford to lose this game. Then we need to put Arlington back where they belong. In second or third place. We know our team is mentally tough. They just have to get their rear ends in gear at the start of the game and keep it up for forty minutes.

I am guessing the pregame pep talk will be vigorous.

It will be interesting to see if Coach Beard changes the starting lineup for tonight.

Sounds good. Would have liked to see Mariek in there, but you can only play five at a time. Mo will be in the game fairly early. His recent performances should move him up in the rotation, although he has normally been coming in fairly early anyway. If Roger was five or six inches taller, Mo would be in the starting lineup. But they need Lis's defensive presence against tall opponents.04-cheers

Perhaps, but if he was five or six inches taller, it probably would be for someone else.
