Impressive stats even for high school. We also have the TE recruit from Oxford. Could make for a good pass/catch combo in the future

There are a couple south La QBs your staff may checkout. Lindsey Scott from Zachary decommited from Syracuse and just picked up a Maryland offer. I believe Tulane is trying to get him. Also Chase Fourcade from Rummel in New Orleans...he's a Nichols State commit but he just picked up a Maryland offer today. Maybe he would like to play FBS football close to home. ULM is his only other FBS offer.

You can probably scratch Lindsey Scott off of that list. LSU just offered him.

For being the state Gatorade Player of The Year, he hasn't exactly gotten a lot of love. I think the state media was kinda one of the reasons he started getting noticed just because everyone was shocked over his lack of offers. Wish the best for the kid.

Jack Abraham (QB signee, who was Mississippi's Gatorade Player of the Year) and two other LA Tech commits aren't even on that list.

True. LSU offered him, but he didn't COMMIT to LSU yet. Lindsey Scott has offers pouring in from everywhere now. Frankly, I'm shocked that a school like LSU is scrambling around trying to find a QB with only 15 days left until NSD. It sounds like somebody on LSU's "recruiting team" has been asleep at the wheel (Frank Wilson? LOL!).

That's why I said "probably"...But I'm pretty sure Scott will commit to them...And I don't think Wilson had much to do with their QB recruiting struggles. They lost Franks around the time of the Les Miles debacle. Then they tried to flip Haskins from Maryland. He flipped to Ohio State instead.

That might possibly be the dumbest ranking system I've ever seen.

Just completely useless.

Didnt say it was useful just interesting. Some of Tech's best players were walk-ons or received 1 offer so I dont much stock in high school player ratings or team rankings.

I suspect the main reason he didn’t get more attention from the P5 schools is that he is only 5’11”. Taylor Heinicke was the Georgia Old Spice Player of the year his senior year and got only one offer – from ODU. He was just over 5’11” in high school. Now he is on the 53 man roster with the Vikings and likely will be their No. 2 QB next year. At that height, they have to prove themselves over and over, and the P5 schools have too many other alternatives with QBs 6’2” and above.

The thing is, these kinds of kids have skill sets that allow them to play at the highest levels, despite their lack of the physical stature that the recruiters are seeking. Like Cato for Marshall, Heinicke for ODU and numerous others (Flutie at BC for instance), he may exceed all expectations at Tech. Best wishes to him and the Dogs, except of course when playing the Monarchs.

EDIT: I incorrectly stated that Heinicke was the Georgia Gatorade Player of the year. That was incorrect. He was the Georgia Old Spice Player of the year. Correction has been made.

it's a lineman height issue in the nfl and now in college.....teams are going after height as important based on the defenses they will mostly see...

the game is evolving

however, there are those that are just great athletes which is the unmeasurable tanglible that tosses them into the deniable category....

just think if Barry Sanders at 5-9 would've been overlooked.....and he only had offers from okie state and kansas state....

I like the numbers from this guy and what he most certainly understands about fighting to prove oneself for every inch....

The qb from up the road in Laurel? Memphis commit, but with the coaching change AND the Tigers bringing in the #1 JC pro style qb AND the rs fr from Starkville waiting in the wings, maybe worth a shot.

ETA: Looks like Minnesota is trying to flip him. He might be ripe for the picking. USM should at least look into it.

Gulfcoastgal, looks like our coaches agree with you.
