Looks like voters don't want to support a stadium that the chargers didn't even think was enough to keep them in SD. Another idea i was thinking about is could the chargers work as team 2 in the the 49ers stadium, santa clara or California Chargers with the Raiders moving to LA. I do think the Raiders would do a lot better in LA as team 2 than the chargers.

This is why the NFL wants politicians to give them public money without putting it to a vote.

In any event, the Chargers are gone to LA, and IMO the Chargers will get an LA deal done ASAP so that they don't fall too far behind the Rams in marketing themselves in LA. The Rams are taking season ticket deposits starting today.

So realistically if San Diego does anything, they're going to be talking about whether to try to put together a new stadium deal to lure the Raiders.

IT does seem pretty crazy that the raiders would move to san diego and the chargers to LA. Might be better for the NFL to trade ownership between the raiders and chargers, thus the chargers remain in SD and the raiders go to LA. I mean if the chargers move to LA and the raiders move to SD that really could put the squeeze on the chargers for carving out a niche.

If I was a Chargers fan, I wouldn't support a dime of public money going toward a new stadium. LA is not San Diego and there's a certain amount of civic pride involved but the Chargers would be going right down the freeway, they wouldn't be going across the country or even state. They could still watch them play live in person on Monday Night or Thursday Night football, so I say short of a last minute miracle, they let them go.
