To kick start this thread here is some good news that came out this week. Baseball Turns In Program-Best 3.42 GPA

Quote:A record 28 East Carolina baseball players have been named to the Fall 2015 ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll, while turning in a program-best 3.42 semester grade point average head coach Cliff Godwin announced Friday.

Since first tracking team GPA’s in the Fall of 2003, the baseball team has reached the 2.90 mark nine times, but never a 3.0 until last fall, when they registered a 3.05 GPA. Heading into the spring semester, the Pirates’ currently sport a cumulative 3.24 team GPA.

Of its 34 players on the active roster, two (Ryan Littlefield and Travis Watkins) earned Chancellor List status with a perfect 4.0 GPA, while 14 landed on the Dean’s List (3.5 or higher) and 12 were Honor Roll members (3.0 or higher). Ten of the 12 incoming freshman recorded a 3.0 GPA or higher with five Honor Roll and five Dean’s List honorees.

We are 3 weeks away from the first pitch of the season!

Does anyone see us 4-0 going in to the UVA series this year and do we take any of the 3 games from them?

I'm hoping we start 7-0 but realistically 5-2. 4-3 with a loss in midweek and I'm worried about our midweek form already.

Why we wait for the first pitches, what's everyone's thoughts on college baseball/softball potentially splitting up the season between the fall and spring? Would allow for a later winter/spring start while also possibly ending the season during the actual academic year or at least a bit earlier in the summer.

Love starting the season against the best. Even if we get swept it will make us a better team and love having cliff back. The jungle and attendance should see a nice spike this year

They can start the season later they just don't want to. No point in splitting the season, it would ruin it as players would leave for the minors during the summer.

They can start the season later they just don't want to. No point in splitting the season, it would ruin it as players would leave for the minors during the summer.

The season would start in the fall not end in the fall...

So something like OOC in Sep/Oct or Oct/Nov take a winter break than March/April would be Conference and midweek OOC games. May would be the postseason.

Are you talking video? If not, ECU has actually got with the time finally and are providing streaming through tunein. Not sure why it's not through the IMG feed they have and through WNCT instead but hey it's better than what we've had.

On the TuneIn app? a couple of times I have tried it I get the regular audio/musical programming and not the actual game.
