You should email this idea to Mike O'Brien. The university is in the final design stages for the East side stadium remodel that will start construction in March and I think this might make a nice touch in the concession area and eating areas they are planning, heck they might already be included in the design phase by the architecture firm. His email address is on the athletics webpage and he likes to hear from the alums.

Cool! They could stream OSU games when they overlap ours to draw more fans. 05-stirthepot

Make nice side panels for a Rocket vehicle at the least. Very nice. A bit passive. I'd brainstorm with the seed idea, something interactive. Maybe something that interacts with cells or what-not. Combine these with the 3-d tech from the med school. Like the press box was a step ahead in its day, get ahead of the crowd.

A 50 foot high, 16:9 4k (minimum) 3-D display fronted by the world's largest multi-person all weather Lazyboy, with cup holders. That can't cost that much. We'll give Lazyboy naming rights. Hold the Lazyboy Bowl in the GB. Name the head coach the Lazyboy Coach (didn't Michigan give naming rights to the head coach position? Maybe that's another school).

I'll tell you what--something that would REALLY spruce up the GB environment would be to put a bank of those along the front of the press box, right where they tacked on the "TOLEDO ROCKETS" lettering. I do like the lettering there, but it looks a little cheesy. If you had lighted signage there, even if it was neon or whatever, it would really spruce the place up. It might be prohibitive to run the screens all the way across, but a half-dozen or so right in the center would be great. They could leave TOLEDO ROCKETS on there most of the time, but still show other graphics or advertising. Advertising might help to pay for it.

eh, wouldn't only half the stadium see those and it generally wouldn't be the half that pays the most for seats and stuff?

I recall a poster once similarly suggested the façade between decks on the east stands. It would replace all the ad signs with ones more dynamic.

Either suggestion has the potential of paying for itself. That's always a good thing. I personally can't visualize how it adds to game experience.

If the new renovations don't include an LED ribbon board all along the east side stands where presently all those outdated Ads are, this will be a big letdown. Those wooden advertisements make our stadium look outdated. Conversely, a ribbon board would do wonders in enhancing stadium atmosphere and really modernize it.

We really need this renovation to be a home run, gotta keep up with the best of the rest in the nation.

See the "college football getting out of control thread." The lines are not so clear on how to spend money to make money or spend money to not lose so much money or a complete misspend. The ribbon sounds cool but would most see the underneath having more effect?

What all do they do with these ribbons?

Something like this would be cool in front of Larimer...the end seats and tall tables

Is there enough room between the edge of Larimer and the playing surface? Seems like it would be a pretty tight space to me, but certainly cool if they could manage it.

Between stone wall and the building, we have a tent / tarp there now with Rocket Nation or something like that on it
